I'm in the market for a bmw m5 right now, i've seen them all from vancouver to richmond to surrey and there aren't that many clean ones. | there are allot of cheap 06 M5 selling for high 30s. I would definitely stay away from those ones....all it takes is a SMG Pump or Vanos issue and you are out $10K.....at this stage of the game get a 08+ LCI, the 06-07 are looking dated........a good price for a 08-10 LCI with low kms is approx. $55 to $75K
When I bought my M5, i was considering the C63 due to value pricing, but in the end I decided on the M5 is because the C63 is still a C class sedan with a big heart.

Which is only a very slight change and you can get adaptors to upgrade to the LCI tails.
vanos and smg pump issues both resolved after production date of 01/06 and you can buy an extended warrenty on m5board from a sponsor that sells NAC exclusionary plan for around 3500-4000. A local member got that plan and had no problems making a claim at autowest bmw. Quote:

If I don't find one locally I might get one from the states. | I got mine from San Francisco last year and it was a easy process. I wanted only a fully loaded, IB exterior, black interior. So it was hard to find locally.

^ I used to have an 06 550i and the 08 LCI+ is definitely a step up, the headlights and taillights do a make a big difference, but it is the upgraded interior that makes a substantial step foward (new buttons, i drive, door panels, gauges, etc.)....defintitely the materials used are much better.

since this is now a M5 thread lol.... M5> C63 IMO that V10 sound alone is enough justification. But its a shame the M5 is a bit fragile, things just break .

Interior I agree is nicer and the new i-drive with the CIC only came on the 2010. So even if you go and buy a 2008-2009, you will only have the CCC. As for gauges, it remained the same. Material wise, I dont see any difference as I have the full leather package and compared with the LCI I see no difference.
Everyone see things differently, but to me I didnt mind the 06-07 at all. Do your research and you will be able to know what to stay away from. One thing we can agree on is that the V10 sounds insane!

^ 09-10 is hard to go wrong, once the F10 arrives in spring, the e60s will start seriously dropping in price

Anyways, back to retake my thread. With the C63, what are the differences that are significant over the model years? Like if I picked up an 08 or 09, what would I be missing out on vs a 10/11/12?

I think the 09's and before have a different design signal light on the side mirrors also. Other than that performance should be the same, unless you want the P31 package.
