I feel more motivated when there's people around me working out hard in the gym, more "drive" and "spirit". But hell ya, having a home gym is awesome, no need to wait for a bench, no need for clothes too lol
I had bad sciatica. Went away once I got orthotics, stretched my piriformis and also used a lacross ball on the piriformis. See if that helps Posted via RS Mobile
Thanks man! Will start lacrosse ball rolling tomorrow once pain subsides a bit... Posted via RS Mobile
Quick questions: Where does lacrosse ball rolling hurt the most for you guys? Personally, its the portion of my legs above and around the knee, and the gluteus medius.
Also, how long are your sessions?
Ended up creating my own workout routine...only to realize it's pretty similar to 5/3/1

For me, foam rolling my inside thighs and IT Band. Lacrosse ball hamstring rolling hurts like hell too. Posted via RS Mobile
Not trying to be a dick, but why not join a gym, save money and have access to real equipment?

like what T.T said, overall it's just preference.
I love to workout 1st thing in the morning. Way easier if it's so close.
Jump start the day.
One thing you got to have is motivation.
For these that don't have it, maybe going to the gym is better since they can see others working hard. Which, will motivate them. Or the hot girls (sometimes) will
edit:
I got a weak lower back and injuries happen to it pretty often.
You gotta stop doing whatever exercise you were doing and apply ice it immediately.
Last time I didn't, I injured myself again while the previous one didn't heal
Was out for months.
do any of you use knee wraps/sleeves when squatting? I notice louie69 has it on in his video. Does it help a lot?
Reason why I ask is i felt a tingle in my knee caps when I was squatting the other day. Didnt think of it much, but now super paranoid after seeing kevin ware (ncaa guy) break his legs

I use sleeves and so does Instant. I like them a lot. There is no reason not to use them too. By the time I get to my working sets, my knees are nice and warm so that definitely helps me mentally as I go into heavier weights.
i use sleeves, wouldn't want to squat without them ever since i got them
keeps them warm and i feel safer squatting heavy, so they help mentally as broken_arrow mentioned
I had a little extra time at the gym today so I tried foam rolling my legs. My IT band area was just one huge strip of pain. I spent 15 minutes on it and I still don't think I did a good job.

Buy a foam roller from the Running Room. Its like 30$ (for the half sized one but thats all you need) and it is a great investment. Foam roll before you go to bed!
80lb DB's over the head today. Another PR, another 4 reps. Killin' it, although smashed my arm pretty good in the park at Cypress today, might be a little while before i'm pressing some more DB's sigh.. Leg's and cycling it is.
There are no principles, there are only events. There is no good and bad, there are only circumstances. The superior espouses events and circumstances in order to guide them.
mike why did you switch from golds to nash in the first place? also you actually have some pretty nice shorts lol
Cause I'm a stupid man who let a woman talk me into it. I'm also training a few girls that go to Steve Nash so it seemed like a good idea so they didn't have to come to my gym, or me having to do drop ins all the time.
But fuck it, I'm out that bitch end of this month. You can't leave Gold's and go to another gym.. It's like going from The 4 Seasons, to Motel 6..
hey red_sir, did you notice any strength lost after you completed smolov?
Yeah my squat is way down now. But it's my fault cause I did a lot of things wrong post smolov like not eating enough, not sleeping enough, not letting small injuries heal, etc etc. I think if you don't slack and keep squatting 3x a week with sheiko or something, I think you can keep most of your gains.
