Been during wrist curls for the past week and a bit. Definitely noticing some gains.

Why have I never done these before?!

LC21 05-22-2013 11:15 AM

Been having a lot of sex lately, definitely noticing pen15 gains.

Finger got jammed while trying to take off a 45lb plate off the rack, and it slipped.

Can't bend my finger; legs for days

thank god no. just a blue staining

Back awhile ago though, I was doing dumbbell press and my finger got caught in a 50 lb dumbbell, had to get my nail poked so the blood would flow out - it ended up spraying up like a geyser

it's all good though, because after that happened I decided to lift bigger weights

Alpine50 05-22-2013 11:16 PM

Was your deload week an actual deload week? That mean's low weight for every single exercise. Not just the compounds. Because if you were still going moderately heavy then that's not really giving your CNS a rest.

Alpine50 05-23-2013 11:09 AM

I just ended up taking a full week off rather than drop the weight down.

I guess it is time for one of these posts. Have been looking at some progress pics of myself today and decided to do a little comparison of what I looked like (from the back) in November 2012 and today, May 2013 (difference of about 7 months). I did not notice much change from the frontal view tbh, but I think I did make some progress judging from these pics... (picture on the left (before) - 270 lbs / picture on the right (after) - 274 lbs).

I hate taking pics of myself. I have always struggled with fat loss (ever since I stopped playing football that is), and I now got to the point where I just don't care about how I look, but I do want to share my journey thus far.

Thanks man! I ran 5/3/1 twice, Smolov once, Sheiko 37 once and for the last month have been following Broz's Bulgarian style training. I think I put on some weight in my quads and back.

Here is another back shot (nothing special and I do not have a "before" comparison pic) but I think I did experienced some hypertrophy in my back.

In the past, I was one of those kids that "worked out" but NEVER gained any size because of improper diet/lack of compound lifts. But ever since college started, I've started to focus a lot on my diet, and play around with different routines. I'm tiny compared to all of you guys, currently sitting at 155..but eh, everyone needs to start somewhere right

edit: wow after looking at the pic, anyone got any pointers on how to make your wrists grow lol

red_sir 05-24-2013 08:03 AM

How are you liking the Broz/Bulgarian method? I wish I had enough time to do that. =(

I hate it, lol! I do see a steady improvement in my bench. Squat numbers did not improve, but I am able to hit 415-425 every single day pretty much (i squat 5-6 times a week). I heard that this was supposed to happen for the first four weeks, but that improvement should follow shortly after. We'll see. I'm planning on doing this until July.

You are right though, it takes way too much time. I'm pretty lucky as my summer is pretty open, but come September, I will not be able to dedicate that much time to gym...

alwayslive 05-24-2013 12:39 PM

just started to do true atg squats and wow, you never know how shitty your squat is until you do atg.. struggled with 115..

but weirdest thing is that going atg actually makes my knees feel really good. usually after squat days my knees are sore but my knees feel fine today
