missed the last attempt on my bench. I have no idea why. 265 is normally easy for me. time for smolov to get my squat up.

Get comfortable, confident then cocky was how i approached my attempts this meet.

A little disappointed that i missed 440 i felt i had that since 418 felt relatively easy. I really need to work on bringing up my bench and i plan to focus on that for the next meet. Deadlift I was actually quite pleased, considering I haven't done any deadlift training since oct of last year and 501 was just knocking on the door.

Was in the 74 kg category. For the Squat, I only got 330lb. My 3rd attempt I accidentally did a mini squat before my full squat because I didn't sync my breathing in but I still manage squat it. Bench was at 220lb which I am happy with since I only started benching last year. Dead lift is my signature lift and managed to pull 457.5 for my 3rd attempt. Total was 1007.5 lb lifted. Going to continue with the 5/3/1 program. I know some people say it's not enough volume but really if you push yourself with depth and control it should still take the wind out of you. Also, I just feel it simple and safe. Can't stress enough about safe. =)

Sick lifts guys. Pretty inspiring to be honest!

lifting weights produces more testosterone and testosterone leads to more acne..possible

Those who've met me at RS meets in the past knows that I'm just your average 5'8' Asian. Been training super hard since I've moved to 'down under' and am fairly happy with the results I'm getting. I've been picking tips from both here and on BB. You really have to do your own due diligence to filter out the BS, and to see what works best for you.

I had trouble benching/squatting one plate on just last summer.
I can now do:

-5reps @ 360lbs squats
-10 reps @ roughly body weight (165lbs) <-bench press
-10 reps incline flying bells @ 180lbs (90 with each hand)

OMG@ GFitTrain.. I tried to do the clapping chin up and smacked my face into the bar.. f*cking hurts..

too_slow 06-11-2013 01:20 AM

And Majin: I reckon if you stop eating at the Aberdeen food court, you'd probably lose 30lbs easily within a month.

but food is delicious!

The weight will come off easy now that I'm actually consistently doing cardio. My body composition has changed alot. it's not so much that I only lost 14 pounds in 6 months, but I gained quite a bit of muscle, and cut a bit of fat.

too_slow 06-11-2013 04:03 PM

^Good S#it.. BTW i love hainanese chicken just as much as anyone else.. Do yourself a favour and have the chicken to go (with no rice).. go easy on the onion oil, take the skin out, and eat it with some quinoa.. And cut back on the baked porkchop rice.. LOL

Or you can try to make it at home.. it's actually not too difficult

i know this may be a highly subjective question, but what do you think is a good weight to be bench pressing? body weight?

meowjinboo 06-11-2013 06:52 PM

More than I can the previous month :)

As a mod, double bodyweight :troll:

in all seriousness, i'd say the bottom line would be able to bench your bodyweight for 5 reps, and 1.5x bodyweight would be extremely good.

Double bodyweight is like the epitome/highest degree of bench press strength, only a top percentile in the world is able to do it (however, there are guys that can do a lot more). I'm looking through powerlifting rankings, and only a small fraction are able to do it.

L0uie69 06-11-2013 08:54 PM

i want 3x bw squat :fullofwin:
