standing ohp has always been my favourite exercise. I never see anyone outside my gym buddies do them either. I also do them with my feet together which no one does either.
Finished first cycle of 531. Cant wait to see how i fair with the heavier weights
Is this guy breathing properly? I thought you were suppose to release breaths through the extension. It looked like he was gulping as much air as he could until his head almost exploded. Just not quite sure which is the correct way Posted via RS Mobile
hes def gonna pass out one of these days an or get a brain aneurism. technically you are supposed to breath out while exertion, but people naturally want to hold their breath when they exerting max weight.
It's called the valsalva maneuver. You suck as much air into your core to create intrabdominal pressure to keep everything tight. Def helps on heavier weight sets. Posted via RS Mobile

yes he is breathing correctly. inhaling as much air as possible contracts/stabilizes your abdominal which helps you stabilize the weight, thus increasing the weight lifted
and its pretty rare to get an aneurysm from lifting. if you do, its unlikely this had anything to do holding your breath for a couple of seconds. if you cant hold your breath for a couple of seconds without passing out, its conditioning thats the problem

are you seriously comparing someone holding their breath to someone holding their breath while trying to exert as much force as possible?
There are no principles, there are only events. There is no good and bad, there are only circumstances. The superior espouses events and circumstances in order to guide them.
does anyone know how much personal trainers charger per hr or session here in Vancouver. Whether it's from a private personal trainer or gym personal trainer.
the majority of you joe blows aren't powerlifters... just because you lift weights, does not mean you a power lifter, nor does it mean you should train like they do.

lol is there someway to ban you from the thread?
if you bench/squat/deadlift youre a powerlifter.
there is really no reason you shouldn't train these lifts, if you dont why even go to the gym lol
you seem extremely uninformed to put it nicely, why do you feel qualified to give advice?

if you bench, squat, deadlift, you weight train. you are not a power lifter (unless you compete). i have more than just broscience as a background. the only person that i will respectfully debate with is instantneedles

i can see it now, you are the guy at the gym telling everyone that squatting is bad for there knees and dead lift is bad for your back
so if u swim you are not a swimmer
if you run you are not a runner ?
fuck i have been telling everyone i lift, spidey what should i tell them
you should tell them you're not natty, that's what you should tell them.
just because you do bench press deadlifts and squats does not automatically make you a power lifter.. someone can be doing the three exercises for 15-20 reps along with other exercises.. they are not a power lifter. it just so happens that 3 of the exercises they do in their workout, are ones that are done in powerlifting competitions.

i can see it now, you are the guy at the gym pitching a tent at the guy next to you doing ATG squats, while ignoring the girl doing the splits in front of you.
