This may seem tiny to a lot of you guys.

But today I feel like my workouts and diet has actually been paying off.

Never in my life had I ever been able to do sit-ups without my feet being anchored. Even when I lost a tonne of weight back a few years ago. I never thought I would actually be able to do this, ever.

Today however after a short 10 minute workout session I was lying flat back on the floor and decided to just try it. I was able to do it, and not just one, but a lot of them. My core training is paying off and I'm so excited for what's to come.

Little victories.

^ Anyone else have trouble doing sit-ups without feet anchored? I go to those ab classes once in a while, and I get shown up by all the light weights. Embarrassing. Ugh

the primary function of your abs is to isometrically stabilize your back and general torso area...as you can tell in a situp u are not really doing that

this is why before people workout they should have at least a rudimentary knowledge of human physiology

I knew someone was gonna make this comment. I don't do situps ever for my core workout. I just happened to try it out, as it's something I had never been able to do before and I thought of it while I was lying on my back.

You missed the point of my post entirely... I CAN FINALLY SEE AND NOTICE THE PROGRESS I AM MAKING.

well the primary function of the abdominals is to flex your trunk, which is the movement of an ab crunch..

But the deep muscles that compose of the core such as the TA and multifidus, are often weak. they are the muscles that are the scaffolding of the spine and stabilize the spine.

this is why you see n00bs that do ab crunches and still have 0 core strength, and 0 ab definition even, because it is not an exercise that targets these deep muscles. They're not able to do an ab crunch at all, because a)they don't have the core strength to do an ab crunch in the first place, and b)they don't even HAVE abs to use.

Often times they will use the tiny muscles in their spine, or their fragile neck muscles to do a crunch, often moving 100s of lbs of fat, and then you see these bitchy imbeciles that complain of back pain

Build your foundation first, which is the scaffolding of your spine. then move outwards and do the abdominal isolation exercises, if aesthetics is your cup of tea

Yeah the Interval training I'm doing didn't inlcude the Ab workout until the third week. However it stressed the importance of using your core throughout 95 percent of the workout.

For my birthday i might get some custom t-shirts made up. If i do I'll let you guys know, since orders if 6+ shirts makes it a bulk order, and cheaper. Ideas so far are..

1. Glutes for the sloots
2. Too swole to control
