Was talking about this couple weeks ago and I can't believe he was riding his bike like 2 weeks out from Arnold. With no body armor or anything Posted via RS Mobile
Grats on the PR. But IMO you gotta get tighter and get your back a little flatter before pulling. Take a deep breath and brace your core, pull your shoulders/chest up, flex your lats, drop your hips enough that your back is flat ... THEN pull.
Also, you're spending too much time setting up. You want to get in position and start to pull much quicker. Spending too much time down there is gonna take some power away.
btw, good intra-abdominal pressure should feel like you are pushing against a belt. in other words, you are expanding your midsection as you breathe in, so that you feel a tight groin area just below your abs.
if you look at all world-class strength and power athletes, they have a big round midsection that looks soft. It should not be flat.
There are no principles, there are only events. There is no good and bad, there are only circumstances. The superior espouses events and circumstances in order to guide them.

If you're looking for regular density foam mats, i think they still sell them at Costco. Like the foam "puzzle piece" style. Four big pieces for about $20. They might call it garage flooring or something.

First night back at the gym in about 2-3 weeks due to some injury and soreness. Went lighter weights and more reps. I was dl'ing 275 and went for the hip drahve, totally cramped up my right glute. Gonna be sore tomorrow
In other news, gonna pick up more equipment for the new place I'm moving to. Already got dumbbells and gonna get a trillion-in-one machine. Gotta keep an eye on CL for a good bench press / squat combo Posted via RS Mobile

From what I see on that picture, its hard to say if it's strong enough to handle heavy deadlifts.. you might have to double up on that stuff if you like your floor and would like to keep it looking like a floor

I don't think foam would handle heavy deadlifts that well, i would at a minimum get 3/4" compressed rubber.
I used to have a home gym and if you even leave your weights on those mats for too long they get flat lol. Id just deadlift in the garage if I were you
