Actually I watched some of that Bostin L... something... kid.. he also seems like a cool, honest kid. Kind of dumb, but also smart in some areas. At the very least he seems pretty open and honest about what he's doing.

He does take a lot of gear.. as for feuds and shit I have no idea, I just watched an interview and a vlog and they seemed decent.. Even if I don't agree with what he does I appreciate the openness.. So many people try to hide their gear use even when it is REALLY obvious... Although if they are competing in "drug free" competitions, I guess they have to, but others who just want to seem like supermen on the internet, come on....

I'm getting back into it. As you know I had to quit last year when I lost a job, and had no time for the gym or money for lots of food.

It actually got worse from there, as I was shortly deported from Hong Kong due to immigration visa issues. I figured it would be about a month or so to take care of, so stayed at my bro's place in Tokyo... Well 1 month turned to 3, then 4, then 6. 6 months living on a dorm room floor, sneaking in and out every night, and not having money to spend and enjoy Tokyo.. it was pretty brutal. I spent most of my time drinking and watching TV and playing video games.

Anyway, I got back late last year, and things are going back to normal.. I now have my feet back under me and am ready to get back to it! I quit drinking, and as soon as I am done this web project, I am going to sign up again and get back to the gym. First goal will be to get rid of this gut I got from drinking so much and eating cheap food

After that, considering doing a cycle, most likely T only. We'll see I am thinking once I get back to where I left off last time. That was around 218 lbs (5'11") not super lean but not fat.. 2 plate bench, 350 lbs or so DL? I'd have to look it all up... But yeah once I get back there I might get on the bike. I am 35 this year, and my body is ready. I obviously can't commit to it now, but it is definitely on my mind.

So I am not 100% back yet but will be!

about 200 cals under maintenance.

Since starting my new camp gig in alberta I haven't been able to go hard on legs or back in the gym.. the gym is realy small with barely any equipment. Oh well, you gotta make sacrifices sometimes to get where you wanna be in life.

Do you do anything regularly to keep your joints (specifically elbows and wrists) healthy and pain free?

Super impressed by the short amount of time it took for you to go from 315lb to 355lb pause bench.

after 3-4 years of training with weights, i've found that the only way not to get joint pain from lifting heavy weights... is to not lift heavy weights.
powerlifting or strength training with f up your muscles, joints and tendons and that is a fact.

heavy weights = joint pain. joint pain = heavy weights.

train light and with good form

i'm not a fan of training with heavy weights year round, i've done that in the past and suffered...

i have 3 1-month cycles to my training:

1.bodybuilding and rehab (lots of sets with reps from 8-20) (to fix imbalances and get muscles dense, and joints healthy) I do lots of isolations, and yes, arms once in awhile
2.hybrid bodybuilding and strength (sets with reps anywhere from 5-12) (to transition body for a strength cycle)
3.strength and power (sets with reps anywhere from 1-4 or 5) (to gain explosiveness for a max lift) aka f-up-your-joints-cycle

this is how I peak for doing a maximal lift.

This way, I can train with lighter weights and still get strong.
Yes, if you intend to do well with a max single u have to train max singles too, you can only grind a max single if you train your body to deal with heavy weights

it's just not possible to stay strong year round so you gotta time it right to peak at the right time so that you take advantage of your strength curve

some nubs at my gym wonder why i squat 1 plate or 2 plate or whatever "pussy" weight i do...

I also do static stretching after sessions when i can, to lengthen muscle fibers. I was at some seminar awhile ago, and they said stretching the muscle actually adds more tissue to it, but it has to be done immediately after a workout. What it also does, is it desensitizes your joints to lots of tension, because when you lift heavy weights, it will add lots of tension to your joints.

I can only speak for myself, and everyone is different, but from what I have observed from other elite strength lifters, etc.. this is the general pattern that I see

Lol nah, you passed me a long time ago. My bench has been stuck at 315 forever. Think your post confirms my idea that I need to do some higher volume bodybuilding stuff for a little while.

good post instant. That is very true about training heavy. I was dicking around at the gym and doing heavy singles on bench and I got 415 up and the next day I remembered why I don't do singles unless 5 3 1 or power lifting program. I stained my bicep tendon again. Training heavy all the time will kill your body and your brain. Even if u are in the tour DE France
