There's a 40 % off code for myprotein.com if you are interested in buying from the states now. I just made my first order of 22 lbs of Impact Whey Protein and it just got shipped so I can't vouch for the company or stuff just yet.

The code is 40OFF.

how are crossfitters so humble, fawk mind boggling

Vancouver240sx 02-02-2015 12:00 PM

What a douche that guy is. That video is from 2011 so I hope things have changed since.

That kind of guy makes defending xfit wayyy too hard.

However, just like the douche that shows up to a car meet and does burnouts in the parking lot doesn't reflect on all car enthusiasts, this douche doesn't reflect on all xfitters.

How do you guys prepare your protein for meal prep?

Need new ideas, getting tired of the same rotations of ground beef/chicken.

Sid Vicious 02-02-2015 01:23 PM

Salmon filet - one salmon steak with a bit of Lemon juice with dill spice on top. 325° for 25 minutes, serve with veggies
Tuna - straight outta the can
Beef - dice and pan sear as if to stir fry. Then just throw on some steak spice and eat with rice & green beans
Eggs - make an omelette using a tonne of veggies and the beef from above
Chicken - usually just pan fry with a bit of water and a lid on top. Or just get a whole chicken from costco and throw away the skin. Can always mix chicken with things like home made salsa for much more flavour

I am pretty picky with my lunches, so I have a few recipes that taste somewhat good when you can only reheat via microwave:

Buy a beef cut suited for dry oven roast (e.g. sirloin tip), season and cook to rare. When needed slice off a few cuts microwave to desired doneness.

Any kind of stewed chicken recipe or chili recipe using thighs and drumsticks:

what brand of salmon fillet do you get? and are they the frozen packaged ones?

i'm thinking of buying a couple packs...

and also, saw a vid of this sumo preparing chanko nabo, did my own version of it and filled me up good :accepted:

320icar 02-02-2015 09:39 PM

I always buy the costco packs. It's Kirkland signature frozen Atlantic salmon. Each filet is individually wrapped so its easy to thaw in the sink. Usually get about 8 or so filets and is usually $28.99. It's not cheap but my god it is so flavourful and moist. Worth it once and s while as a treat

Fcukedd 02-02-2015 09:58 PM

Got my knee checked out last week and doc told me the joint/ligament is just fine (thank god). Pain is apparently due to some muscle imbalances, which makes sense.

Deciding to squat like a powerlifter now. Fucking ridiculous in terms of how easy low bar is to high bar.

Anyone experience discomfort when transitioning though? Still having a bit of trouble finding that 'shelf' and kinda hurts my rear delts (am I doing it wrong?)

Sid Vicious 02-03-2015 07:28 AM

took me a while to find a position to work for me when i was transitioning, about 2 weeks or more, it about finding a grip width and elbow position that works for you. some people prefer thumbless as well

but you should check your mobility...if your getting knee pain while high bar squatting youll probably get it low bar eventually. my low bar personally looks almost the same as my high bar. stretch ur ankles, hips etc
