If you like margaritas, you'll want the traditional style that ONLY uses triple sec as a sweetener. And only if it's a quality triple sec, like Cointreau

A good bar will make it this way. Some will make a "Tommy's Margarita" which adds agave syrup which will quadruple the carbs. Others will use shitty triple sec which are pure syrup with less alcohol. Cointreau is nice and dry 80 proof, but sweet. It's how original Daisies and their varients (like the Margarita) are meant to be made.

If you like it a bit bitter, try a Siesta, one of my all time favourite cocktails. Adds a bit of campari and grapefruit and everything works SO perfect. Definitely not low carb though if that's as much of a concern as it is to OP.

Palomas are excellent as well.

Caipirinha is another favorite if you like rum, easy and simple to make.

Came up with an awesome high protein nachos:

Mix diced raw jalapeno into cottage cheese (this is a great snack itself)
Spoon onto Quest tortilla chips flavor of your choice

Hits the spot pretty good.

im having trouble getting abs. I've been swapping out my carbs for half a plate of greens and the other half for protein. This is when I also discovered that ranch is high in calories...

Few questions.

1. Have you ever had abs? Some people have terrible ab genetics, not unlike the guy in your avatar there, Mr. Johnson.
2. Do you train them?

If yes to both, you simply need to lose bodyfat, you might want to monitor how many calories you're taking in a day there. Not sure your age, but you might also want to get your testosterone checked. I know so many people in their 30's (both men and women) that have their diets dialed in, workout tons, but can't lose weight.

9 times out of 10 it's a hormonal issue (or lack there of).

I do train abs. For every workout, I will do cardio at the end. My calorie intake is supposed to be 2800 a day, however, I know I am not hitting that target after setting my goal to hit 180 lbs.

Maybe I'm expecting too much too quickly. I'm in my early 30s and yeah not too bad, got my chest, shoulder, and back, just a bit of an extra layer of fat around my abs lol.

Do you guys prefer inclined walking or cycling?

Inclined walking is my preference.

EC stack with clean calorie deficit and LISS helped me (barely) get my lower abs, this was back in my early 30s tho lol. Got down to maybe 15% bf at the lowest?

Most people think they'll have abs when they get to a certain weight and then realize they're at least another ten pounds away from solid abs.

And then if you're natty you just end up looking skinny anyways

Incline walking, stair master are the best bang for your buck, but I really enjoy cycling too. Now that it's getting warmer I'll be riding 2-3 times a week from Burnaby > Downtown/Seawall Loop and back.

Good few hours of cardio.

20 shows is reaching

But really any cardio outside > cardio in gym.

It's way easier to do an hour hike or walk in the forest as opposed to on the treadmill. I find after about 15 minutes I want to shoot myself.

I was told that tequila has the lowest calories. Maybe its the reason why i have belly fat

Anybody in the loop on the latest on weightlifting / squat shoes? i.e. looking for raised heel, hard sole, and ideally a wide toebox (the last one I know might not be very common).

What's the popular one these days that are well rated? Don't need super specialized high end ones, hoping for something <$120 regular price.

I currently have some Reebok crossfit ones that have about a 3mm lift meant for more all-around. I am now looking for a more specialized solid-heel squat shoe with a higher lift.

I see many more options, brands, and models for this now vs the last time I shopped for them many years ago.

Thanks!

Nike Romaleos is what I see most wearing at the gym.

Hate the look of those shoes though, I rock Otomix with a built in heel lift.

What I know of the new weightlifting shoes from my gym:
- Reebok Legacy Lifter: Mid range for toe box width, high lift, very solid, heavy
- Nike Romaleo 4's: Tight shoe from heel to toe, high lift, very solid, fairly light
- TYR L-1 Lifter: Made specifically to have a BIG toe box, medium lift, softer/pliable, light
- Adidas Powerlift 5: Mid range toe box, low lift, medium build, medium weight

Most shoes I'm talking about can be found here
https://www.roguecanada.ca/shoes/weightlifting-shoes

For a budget shoe, I haven't seen them in person yet, but these look pretty good:

Hope that helps,
Rich

Not sure if this has been asked before in this thread:

Anyone have suggestions for a 3-5 day gym regiment? I just want something simple and straight forward to follow as opposed to just wandering and doing unorganized sets...

I bought the Rom 4's, they're very tight and very high lift. Definitely not the most comfortable, I have to take em off asap or my foot feels like it'll die from lack of circulation.

If you're looking at never squatting over 335-365lbs, the notorious lifts I found were pretty good. Lots of grip, really stable and comfortable. I think people use it mainly for deadlifting but I use it for all leg movements. Better than your classic ultraboosts.

Jeff Nippard's upper lower can do the 4 day or 6 day but do it in 5 day intervals. Full body is really good when you don't have a desire to gym like your early 20's and mostly trying to hold on to whatever muscle mass that's left lol.
