sounds like its a smith machine barbell runs along sliders and has catch points you can rotate the bar to set it on. all you have to do is 100% push instead of focusing on stability as well. http://befitandstrong.com/wp-content...th-machine.jpg i use it for bench if i dont have a spotter sometimes. and i use it for shoulder presses (in addition to dumbells) all the time. you can also use it as an alternative to squats if you arent comfortable with real squats. |
^I actually see ALOT of ppl use the smith machine for squats at my gym. Moreso than actual squats. Maybe I'll start using that for now, just in case.. |

Honestly I've never done leg press, but I used to do squats alot. Now I think I should lay off. I hate leg days though, they feel like a chore |
