Yes, you have to "sign up". Technically speaking, theres a 10 day grace period when you sign up whether it be for a one month contract or a 2 year contract (you can sign up for a membership but cancel for any reason within 10 days without paying any dues). Many people don't know about this 10 day grace period so golds decided to make a "promo" out of it. If you DO sign up and forget to cancel by the end of 10 days then you're stuck with your membership for however long it states in your contract.

I need to get my ass back in the gym. It's been over a week and I think that I gained probably 10 pounds of weight I don't want just over the weekend... I feel dirty...
I've got a girl who wants to start coming to the gym but doesnt really know where to start and wants me to figure out a routine for her.
anyone have any suggestions on chick routines?
get her to join a good fitness class with a reputable instructor.. i have seen a lot of atrocious group fitness instructors so find a good one for her. if she has not worked out, ever, get her to do these body weight exercises to startoff
-squats
-lunges
-mod pushups
-inverted pushups(on smith machine, or trx if you have one)
-plank
-exercise ball butt raises
-side planks
not in any particular order, but i go through each exericse top to bottom.. rest... for 2-3 sets. you can even throw in a 3-5 min cardio equip flush after the end of each set to keep her HR up a bit, but to flush the lactic acid... beginners will buld up lactic acid big time.
also remember that you dont want to cripple her off the bat. you don't want her to not be able to workout because of sever DOMS, or have a bad impression of working out.
good luck convincing, not only a noob female to do this type of workout, but most girls in general
females have a totally different mindset than males when it comes to working out. the main reason they stay away from gyms is because of the men and their "heavy weights". i know a few women who don't mind being in a gym full of mena nd heavy weights, but general consensus is that it is very intimidating.. that is probably why you see women ending up only doing cardio for 1-2 hours when they are at the gym.
exactly! the reason she doesnt go is because shes intimidated by the guys and doesnt know what to do.
im trying to get her to join one of the classes at my gym. they have really picked them up in the last couple months. they used to just do spin, now they have about 30 different classes and have started bringing in things like the TRX.
at the same time as this, Ive got another buddy whos wanting to come to the gym and wants me to show him what to do. He really needs to start training as he looks liked hed break in half if he got hit with a pillow. But man, I feel like an elitist douche, but Im not looking forward to breaking up my training to spend time showing someone around for the next 6 months. Especially if they might not be 100% into it or might quit after a few months.
