Anyone have any advice for supplements for someone just starting out? I don't really know much about pre/post workout stuff, so is that stuff important in maximizing workout results? If people could share what they use, it'd give me an idea of where to go. I had a couple of friends tell me that whey is important, but I'd like to know all the facts before investing in something thats a little bit pricey.
I'm about to hit the gym full time again after taking a month off, and I want to take it a lot more seriously now that I have a goal in mind for next year.

^don't worry about supplements. focus on eating well and a lot.
with time, only things you really need are a good multivitamin(now adam, optimen and orange triad are what i like), fish oil, vitamin D.
instead of whey, drink homo milk.

instead of whey, drink homo milk. | Sounds simple enough. I assume a look in the "what do I eat" thread is in order. Also, with those multivitamins, I googled them, and those are something I'd be willing to buy. I'm just confused on whether or not you take all three at the same time, or across your day. I'm already on fish oil, and I think I have some vitamin D around the house.
Homo milk works just as well as whey for a mix in pre/post workout drinks as well?
Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice! | I drink half a litre of homo milk an hour before a workout and half a litre of homo milk after a workout. http://stronglifts.com/milk-post-wor...-muscle-gains/ http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/79235.php
you take the multivitamins throughout the whole day. same with fish oil, you take it throughout the whole day.

the place is huge, there's 3 squat racks and a bunch of other machines i don't care about. 2 dip/pullup stations. only bad thing is that the plates aren't placed neatly on a tree. they are spread around on different places.
there were a few benches for bench press. at least one of each, incline, decline and flat.
2 separate dumbell areas. 1 for lighter dumbells, the other for the bigger dumbells.
the place looks relatively clean. the bonus is there is a tractor tire. the change rooms are big, there's individual showers.
there wasn't many people, but it was during a slow time. i can't tell if they had cleaning solution in spray bottles readily available. 24/7 and not being surrounded by dumb high school kids is enough to make me sign up.

Are the plates at least put on the tree, or are they all over the ground?

plates on machines like this one
the dumbells seem to be well organized. apparently they have a steam room, but didn't see it. there's a decent sized mat area to warm up.
they have a bar there, $12-13 pitchers.
