Upped my deadlift today!!
always do 2 warmup sets @135, then do a 5 x 5
Last week did 2 sets of 5 @ 225, then a set @ 285, then 2 sets @225
This week did 7 reps @ 225, 2 sets of 5 @ 285, one set of 2 @ 285, one set of 6 @ 225
went from 20@225&5@285 to 13@225&12@285

Hate the fatness of bulking, but loving the strength gains from it! Currently 173 @ 5'6

Granted i had a scoop of No-xplode today (even though i almost sharted myself deadlifting)

anyone know of any good protein bars that are also low-carb?

the atkins brand stuff seems alright but fairly high calories, been at under 20g of carbs for a month next wednsday, thinking i'm going long-term with this, but id like a little snack or somthing for after eating chicken breasts and salad lol

hal0g0dv2 02-02-2011 05:26 PM

^^ its hard to get low carb bars that dont cost u a arm and leg
http://www.supplementscanada.com/pop...s_lowcarb.html
those are all low carb

Hondaracer 02-02-2011 05:27 PM

hmm yea, pricey, i was gonna add price into consideration, although those arent too bad, any experiance ordering from them?

i'm in the market for some glutamine, creatine, and the bars, so that would probably make it worthwhile to order from them?

edit* Although those say 3g of carbs per bar, it says 25 on the nutritional label? so thats total carbs VS digestible?

Hate having to drive to the gym just to do HIIT on my off days so
I'm planning on jumping rope for HIIT. Has anyone done it? If so, any thoughts?

didnt look at the specific bars, but look at the net carbs not total carbs. carbs minus fiber.

me no belt 4 life

hal0g0dv2 02-02-2011 08:57 PM

did legs yesterday, wow cant walk, really focusing on legs this year

ws6ta 02-02-2011 09:05 PM

took 1mr today for the first time. shit made me crash so hard after just working out quads, couldn't even do hams or calves. white flood keeps me going through the whole workout. i'm always exhausted and feeling fucked up when I work out legs but today was probably one of the worst workouts ever

ws6ta 02-02-2011 09:50 PM

how long do you guys wait to take your nitric oxide?

for example

-preworkout meal
-wait how long before taking no2
-workout

Word no belt, no gloves, no foam padded bars... Not saying it's better or worse, but it feels awesome just to lift heavy shit by yourself, even if it isn't as heavy as if you could lift with helper gear.

ever think that your back might be stronger had you not used a belt and you would have developed significantly more core strength in that time?

if i tried to deadlift a year ago what i lift now, my back would absolutely fucking explode. but since ive put a year into it, my back and core have become 100x stronger and provide 100x more support than a year ago. when i first started DLing and squatting heavy, my lower back felt like it would give out at any time but now, after a year of deadlifting, my lower back is strong as fuck and not even a thought in my mind.

had i been wearing a belt the whole time, my back would still be weak as fuck, and really, whats the point of that in the end? im a firm believer in total body conditioning.

the only time i'd use a belt is on the a final set in an overload scenario when you're into big numbers. definitely not all the time.

its the same as using straps. more than a few people on here have said they use straps to deadlift 200lbs, and ive seen it alot in the gym. how come i can hang on to 400lbs and not even think about grip being a problem? and theres people on here who hang onto 600+lbs without straps. if your grip sucks, improve it, dont find a way around it.

ahhhh first real workout in a long time that hit my triceps hard and my chest.

I forgot how effective freeweights are, I focused so much on used the bar that my stabilizing muscles were shit. My goal is to bench 225 before September, I know I'll do it.

I need a workout partner, going beyond my comfort zone is hard when I know it's just me and the weight. Oh well, banged out 5 reps with 20 pounds over my old max today for benchpress

chalk is my best friend for dead lifts and farmers walk, lots of guys always come up and say y0 bro ( nubs) do u were a belt since your tall as fuck and dead lifting that weight , and i say nope, then they ask how did u do that, BASICS

hal0g0dv2 02-02-2011 09:58 PM

fini bar 45-30 min b4 the gym
surge 15 min, 200ml
spike 5 min b4 the gym
sip on rest of surge and drink 1 L cold water during workout

sorry dude don't understand...you have a meal then wait 1.5 to 2 hours have your no2 and then hit the gym another 30-45 mins later?

isn't that too long? it thought 1 hour was a long time to wait.

i saw in the quickest car thread you said you are benching 275 now. how many times?
