Had an awesome back day yesterday, upped my deadlifts to 230lbs. I probably could've gone a little bit more though :)

MaximalLazy 03-09-2010 02:04 PM

My back no longer hurts from doing squats(pain from bar).

did 195 deadlifts today and my callouses are getting wayyy worseee

Picked up some Creatine MH today, with some glutamate and dextrose at the suggestion of the owner (meant to decrease recovery time, give more energy, and enhance uptake of the creatine). Only like $45 for them all, and itll last over 2 months, probably more like 3 or 4. Going to take it post work out for the next while.

Pretty solid shoulder work out today.

Does anyone else get lower back pain from doing deadlifts? When performing the deadlift I don't feel anything but when I'm done and I sit down and relax my back I feel a bit of discomfort/pain in my lower back. The feeling doesn't last very long, but it's got me concerned.

I've been doing deadlifts fairly consistently for the past 6 months or so and just recently (about a month ago) experienced noticeable pain. I stopped for 3 weeks and just did them again today and still felt pain.

Any ideas?

perhaps it's your form? Are you also making sure to squeeze your glutes?

when I do deads I always feel it the most the next day in my hamstrings, forearms, and upper back
I don't feel anything in my lower back except a lil tightness on the day I do them.

those look similar to blast straps, they're great for working stability, you can perform push ups(normal or with feet elevated), dips, various types of rows (recline, feet elevated).

how much u dl now ?

RRxtar 03-22-2010 05:07 PM

not much really. somewhere about 300 or 315 or something. i forget. i got off my deadlift routine when work started beginning of march. haha

hud 91gt 03-22-2010 05:31 PM

Did my first actual sets(3 of em 4-6 reps) of 3 plates on the DL today. But man my grip sucks. I'm going to drop the weight 50lbs or so I think and go with a traditional grip and try and build up the strength of the old hands/forearms. This mixed grips thing is ok, but it will eventually lead to an uneven build. I try and do 2-3 reps with the mixed grip then switch the grip around and do 2 more. I'd hate to go down in weight though haha.

L0uie69 03-22-2010 07:25 PM

i tend to pull more when i pull less often

hal0g0dv2 03-22-2010 08:58 PM

have not done bench in 3 weeks, so tonight i tried to see were i would be
still managed to pull of 3 plates for 3 perfect reps, cant wait to see what happens, when i do chest phase

That guy is a machine lol.

Did arms today, overall great workout. Wasnt able to curl much, but got a great tri workout. Tried this new preworkout sample, supposed to have 3x the caffeine, i forget what its called (abbreviated M.R. tho), I didnt like it…felt the caffeine, but not a lot of energy to push hard, and I crashed pretty hard too.
Going to pick up some Xpand tmrw, and some Elite protein, as Im almost out.
