Protein shake question:

I weigh 235 and want to drop weight while maintaining/building more muscle..i weight train and do cardio.

I used to have a shake after my morning workout as a breakfast supplement, but I was told to have it before bed time as that is when the muscles will take in the protein..good idea, bad idea, or doesnt matter?

should i steer clear from shakes all together? i have them with water.

Only casein (and other slow-digesting) protein will be beneficial before bed.

Hey guys,

I have a question.

When i bring down the bar; near my shins after doing a dead lift, i tend to let it hit the ground (i don't let go of the bar or anything, but i am just saving some energy to reset to do another lift), it makes a noise and the manager asked me to let the weight "roll" because he says i am dropping it. Am i out of line for doing this? I can gently put it down, but i have to bring it down really really slowly. Thanks for any tips and opinions.

BTW, the deads were 335lbs.

if no mats/padding, just use a plate on each side as a "mat" instead.

Having a shake before bed is fine

Got supergayed at the gym today. Showed up and they had special holiday hours, closed at 8pm :okay:

Since I'm home and all fucked up on assault, using excel to plan all my workouts/meals now.
Slowly amping up my workouts, going to do a modified 5x5 workout until mid-september, and will gain some good mass/strength in the process. Meal planning on excel is "fun". :D For the first time in my life, I'm logging everything.

i've logged all my workouts for nearly 2 years. its great to keep track of your lifts, because you can't remember every damn number correctly. the main attraction is the motivation for me. i want to shred that log book every workout and top my previous lift.

That's the good thing about the greaseball sportcentral. Shit's never closed. Only on new years.
