Worked out with my friends today. Did chest. The last time I did chest with an RS member, I benched my max at 50lb, it was hard, but he told me I could do it and helped me balance it. When I benched 45lb today with my friends and could barely do a rep, they told me its too heavy and I shouldn't do it and took my dumbells away. Should have told them to the gym if you're not ready to push limits

It's fun to max out once in a while, but not every time you work out. Your friends are right that it's too heavy, you aren't accomplishing anything doing 1 rep IMO. Why not do a lighter weight, and work your way up?

I seriously try to limit how often I drank, typically it doesn't go over once a month (I guess it depends on age too, i'm 21, so i'm always in the drinking scene) But after playoffs/summer/vegas/kelowna I feel like I set myself back months. It's not the hangover that gets me, but the "gym hangover" -which has me lifting at least 10% less for a few days after. I remember HALO saying a few months back that if you drink, you basically make your day at the gym useless.
Chronic FTW!

I can't seem to get perfect form for DB's, so i try not to do them as much, although i should do them so i can get the form better

Since I rarely have a spotter I find it safer to use DB's rather then bar.

We're talking both DBs combined, right? If that's the case, my DB bench lags behind my barbell bench.
I don't even barbell bench anymore. Just DB, for the same reason as Berz.
BTW, BaoTurbo, just some encouraging words. Back when I first started, I had difficulty doing 50 lb DBs too. I think I started with 35s or 45s, can't remember. LOL I used to wobble holding them. Now I do 85 lbs, no wobble, happy to say.

Since I've been resting my back this week, I've been hitting my chest hard.
New PR for flat DB press: 8 reps of 110lbs. DBs

Can't fucking sleep til 2-3am these days and have to wake up at 6:30-7ish for work. It's either the summer heat or the fact that my mind seems to be racing these days or both. Totally sucks when you have the best chest workout of your life and end up sleeping for 3 hours that night |
