HAHA No way. I also had a lifting dream a couple nights ago. It was fucked up because all the weights were colored. 45's were purple, 35's were yellow etc. And all the dumbells were octagon shaped. Don't ask me where this came from haha.

Berz out.

It's key to begin and develop some raw strength before moving onto more concentrated/isolated exercises

"isolated" and non-compound exercises are more for "aesthetics" so to speak .

It's just the way I see it but correct me if I'm wrong please.

how much weight did you go up for each of the exercises?

use water. Or water + coconut milk. or almond milk. Also make sure you never drink skim milk. Either whole milk, or no milk.

Or, if you have cheap protein powder, buy better protein powder. If it has maltodextrin in it, throw it away.

Had an intense leg workout.
Legs are still shaking, and it's been 45 minutes out of my workout.

Well, if you go StrongLifts 5x5: Ultimate Strength & Muscle Building Program | StrongLifts.com and sign up, after 2 days, you're given the 5x5 spreadsheet, where it gives you a schedule of your workouts. Squats are in every workout. Every workout, squats go up by 5lbs, deadlifts by 10, and bench, overhead, and row by 5lbs.
For me, i've gone up a good 50lbs in 4 weeks, pretty awesome if you ask me :P

Some new douchebag @ my gym tonight. Guys were benching 275lbs with 1/2 inch range of motion and having his buddy spot/do half the lifting. Then proceed to flex in front of the mirror lol. They did the same thing with 120lbs DB incline press. Kept dropping the weights after each set.

I wanted to take a picture last nite it was so ridiculous

Infront of the dumbells were 4 guys doing synchronized slow curls, one with straps, and then a 5th guy on the end was doing tricep kickbacks with straps and a belt.

what the fuck is going on?

Berzerker 08-13-2011 10:33 AM

hahaha. Should have taken a pic man.

strykn 08-13-2011 11:07 AM

(Strictly from my experience) Berz, 5x5 helps you get to a 275 bench/ 400lb deadlift / 300ish squat but 5x5 won't get you higher then those numbers or it will not be the most efficient way to do so

does this workout primarily focuses on strength gaining or is it also muscle building and fat burning too ?

Garbage workout other than for a pump IMO.

Rather do dips or if you can't do dips, dip off the benches with plates on your lap, skull crushers, close grip bench/floor press, rope extensions on cables

Depends on your diet and rest times honestly. If you're taking 30 second breaks and going hard, your BPM are gonna be in the 150 range + you'll be able to add a few pounds to your exercise per week. 5x5 is awesome, i love it. Just log all your stuff

5x5 with a cyclic ketosis diet would be beast, i want to try that eventually.

hal0g0dv2 08-13-2011 01:16 PM
