isnt rack pulls without the crash bar just romanian deadlifts?

Except you don't let the plates touch the floor, and the bar only goes down to just below knee level

^^ problem with that bar is... most new homes have moldings... so the side of the bar would actually dent/mark up the wall

XplicitLuder 10-06-2011 11:03 PM

had a great shoulder and leg day :megusta:

Doesn't that "pad" offset the bar a bit off the wall so it clears the molding? Anybody have a picture, I'd like one of these too.

I have that bar and I'm afraid I'm gonna bring the wall down. Elementary school monkey bars FTW.. But looking like an athletic pedophile during school hours FTL

Smith barbell row is interesting! I have done inverse barbell row on the smith (flat with feet on a bench) but hadn't thought of doing it this way.

My friend has that chin up bar in his house. Another friend came over and was swinging on it and fell. There is a a nice hole in the drywall from his head lol

Had a good workout. So much easier to lift big when you are eating big. 189.6 lbs and trying to get to 195 before cutting.

Squat 280lbs x 21
Bench 195lbs x 17
Barbell row 170lbs x 14
Tricep dips 65lbs weighted x 15

I have this chin-up bar. Cheap (Price-wise) and really sturdy. Except this is what it does to your molding after using it 3-4 times a week.

RRxtar 10-07-2011 11:14 AM

I'm going to do them tonight. I've been doing them reverse (hanging from bar with feet on a benchy with weight on my chest but I'm gonna try em the other way

Key is to focus on pulling with your back focussing on like trying to pull your shoulders togrther instead of pulling with your hands

Been doing Smithy rows for a while now. People who hate on the Smith Machine are usually skinny little pricks anyways.

JSilver 10-07-2011 02:28 PM

Ran out of milk for the firs time in a long time and decided to use water with the protein.

Tastes like shit.

Wow, finally some use for the smith machine! I thought they were only useful as towel racks.

My review of smith machine row:

nns 10-07-2011 06:05 PM

I guess you don't have to worry about people doing curls in the Smith machine...

Go to the Coquitlam Porier rec center and you will see people that do that.

No lie.

mikemhg 10-07-2011 06:48 PM

What you guys rocking on Smithy Rows? I was doing a plate and a 25, don't usually go crazy heavy on them since you end up starting to use momentum to pull it to your chest, which is pointless.

hal0g0dv2 10-07-2011 07:35 PM

Told ya guys smith machine rows are da shit
You all owe me bottle of mp assult

I go up to 3 plates usually and keep very strict form. And go high reps

hal0g0dv2 10-07-2011 07:46 PM

I know most wont care but w/e
going to do a little update in the halogodv2 world
Current weight is 240 ish still floating around that mark... The last picture i posted i have gotten a bit bigger but a little bit more body fat, not watching what i eat as much. My training has been very weird lately. i usually just go to the gym and decide what i do that day. Trying to do 2 muscle groups a week. end of the year goals are dead lift 6 plate 25 for 2, back to benching 4 plates for reps ( 3 reps ) and maybe get to 5 plates squat. It is so hard to keep everything high, my squats have been up but deads have been dropping.
Still killing it in the gym as usual
