Pretty sure every noob that starts working out wants to look like brad pitt in fight club lol.
I didn't even have a glimmer of interest back when I first watched Fight Club, but even then I knew Brad Pitt's physique was sorely lacking. Chest is way, way too flat.
I think Edward Norton's physique in American History X looked pretty good.
I just randomly found this while searching Google:
Quote:
To get ready for the movies like Fight Club and Troy, Brad Pitt diet was the main secret. The Brad Pitt diet was planned and designed by expert nutritionist, and fitness trainer. To achieve the stalwart body, the actor actually gave up eating lots of things that he usually loves to indulge in such as fries and burgers. The policy is simple and effective, stay away from fried, dairy and artificial food. He was even not allowed to take juices, instead he was recommended to eat fruits such as apples, grapefruits and oranges. Brad Pitt diet plan was perfect and can be effective for anyone wanting a muscular body.
Where's the protein?
Heh, found more, and makes more sense:

Brad's diet is the most important aspect when it comes to getting him in shape for a role. Don't just think he trains hard in the gym, his diet accounts for much of his success in achieving the physique produces. For his Fight Club role Pitt took on a very strict and consistent diet eating six small meals a day which included a Whey Protein Powder and on occasion some protein bars, no other supplements were used by Pitt, however much of his nutrition came from whole foods high in protein like Chicken, Turkey, Fish, Lean Meat, Eggs and Cottage Cheese. Carbohydrates were very clean and included Wholewheats and Grains, Green Vegetables, Oats and Rice Cakes, which were then tapered off in his last two meals of the day.
Breakfast would be: 6 eggs, 6 whites, 7 yellow and 75g of oatmeal with raisins. Occasionally Pitt would replace the eggs with a Protein Shake if his schedule was tight.
Midmorning snack: Tinned Tuna in Wholewheat Pitta Breads
Lunch: 2 x Chicken Breasts, 75-100g Brown Rice or Pasta and green veggies
Mid-afternoon snack [Pre-Workout]: protein bar or Whey Protein Shake and a Banana
Post Workout: Whey Protein Shake and a Banana
Dinner: Grilled fish or chicken, brown rice or pasta, vegetables, and salad.
Evening Snack: Casein Protein Shake Protein shake or Low Fat Cottage Cheese (Slow Release Protein)
I'm getting sick of 5x5, I feel bored going into workouts ... the workouts are tough, but I loved the bodybuilding style of weight lifting. I miss the pump ..
Spoiler!
.. so I cheated. I had a classic chest/triceps day today. Threw in some quick across the body hammer curls at the end (massive pump from these). Got a new PR for bench and close grip bench. Did skullcrushers and got another PR. Did heavy peck deck with good form. And heavy high rep dumbbell flies. Having a pumpgasm
For the first time in a long time I could see my arms bulging out from underneath my hoody, dat pump
CANT WAIT FOR MY SHOULDER TO HEAL, and till i can do 2 plate squats and deadlifts. Havent benched or shoulder pressed in 2 months.

hahah yah same here. Been doing 5x5 a full year in 2 weeks. I started doing some at the end of workouts. Hammer curls on squat/ohp/deadlift/pull up/chin up days and on bench/tricep days doing tricep behind back with dumbbells (either with two hands or singles) just to feel the pump again or skull crushers.

on my 4th month of 5x5 and i completely stopped recording my progress but i now remember which weight im supposed to do etc.
Feels good though, but i gotta go down to 3x5 and 1x5 sooner or later for a few exercises..
Do you guys keep changing hands for your hookgrip while you deadlift. I heard someone say after every rep rotate your hand for your grip. Posted via RS Mobile
I know everyone gets really upset and mad at me when I disagree with them, but I am not that impressed with his physique here...
hey fatty. some of us who started at 145-155lbs had to set realistic goals when we started.
his physique isnt that good, looking at it now (needs more shoulders), and hes got that "just packed on as much size as i could as quickly as possible to get big for this role" look, while not being that big overall, but back when i first started he looked pretty beast.
Really putting an effort to follow a strict diet the past 2 weeks (except last night, damned pumpkin pie), and noticing a big diff in my workouts. Finally able to do pull ups, and the harder ones that work your back. Wide grip pull downs?
Anyways, noticing a difference in appearance and strength. Fuck yeah Posted via RS Mobile
Is there something wrong with doing 5x5 program with more exercises?
Same boat as you guys here, I love doing the compound exercises but it just didn't seem like it was enough. I start off with the basic squat/deadlift/press then I started incorporating pulls-ups/push-ups, some tricep extensions and pull downs.
Started going to the gym in June but never really took it seriously til August. Now I've been getting good improvements.
Exactly. Stronglifts recommends against them, but as long as I am fully recovered for next workout I will do them.
