Why gamers are a great fit at the gym - CNN.com

Just joined Fitocracy, noticed Sonick and Strykn in the RS group by themselves lol. We could do the weekly challenges in there and get something (points) for them

sonick 10-14-2011 10:39 AM

lol yea I started it when it first launched but it got boring and lame.

Either my grandma washed my raw denim when i wasn't home or my legs got fatter. ZOMFG :(

maxxxboost 10-14-2011 01:40 PM

How many of you guys like jumping rope?

dachinesedude 10-14-2011 02:11 PM

do you guys use belts for squats?

im starting to test out 2 plates (i weigh 150), but i really feel the pressure on my lower back when im doing the exercise

contemplating whether to do less weight w/o belt, or more weight w/ belt, dont wanna snap some shit up

I feel the same, lower back is hella sore. But i wouldnt use a belt until i really have to. Im thinking i have to strengthen my lowerback.

if your lower back cant handle 2 plates and you decide to start wearing a belt now, how will your lower back ever be able to handle 3 plates? 4?

maybe try doing some lower back exercises and strengthen your lower back abit. and make sure your form is right on your squarts.

strykn 10-14-2011 03:45 PM

uh belt for 2 plates.... NO dont even think about it

RRxtar 10-14-2011 04:05 PM

Fatter or bigger? Yeah work on your lower back more. Even at 150lbs, 2 plates shouldn't put that much strain on your lower back.

XplicitLuder 10-14-2011 06:20 PM

went gym today for the first time in a week n half, fuck i hate it :okay: couldnt give 100% and everything seemed to lack. Needa get back into it, dam work :alone:

Update on my deadlift progress:

Few weeks ago posted my 495 deadlift. Felt unusually strong and motivated today ripped up 525 today @ 185.5. It was a grinder and wasn't pretty but feelsgoodman.
One day I will achieve super saiyan status like Strykn and Hal0 and rep the smaller guys :)

Try switching to sumo deadlifts for a while and do some good mornings. Those really helped strengthen my hip drive and lower back.

Congrats on the deadlift!

I've had some mixed perspectives on breathing but I'd like to hear what you guys think. On one hand I hear people saying to inhale on the negatives and exhale on the positive (push/pull) whereas others say to do the opposite.
I personally inhale - / exhale +.

It feels a million times more natural blowing out hard when you're straining rather than breathing in.
