Those cracked the fuck out of my door frame to the point where I stopped using it.
I rather just do pullups at the gym lol
it didnt do anything to mine but then again last time i used it i was around 120lb lol
@vancity, your back looks like mine 3 months ago when i was 125lb lol
Spoiler!
September 2011, after 1 year of working out :|, from 105-125lb
December 2011 if u havent seen already, from 125-148lb
u can tell i have more bodyfat in this pic
i used to search on the comp for hours for the perfect routine thinking that was my problem for not making gains much or my genetics but i realized recently i was overthinking it and wasted my time, all u need is a typical split or full body routine and a lot of good food and you will make good progress
this is a pretty good read to motivate u to eat more if that makes sense:
Spoiler!
There was a time at the Old Westside gym where I couldn't gain weight to save my fucking life.
There was this dude who trained there who could just put on weight like fucking magic. He'd go from 198 to 308 and then to 275 and back down to 198. And he was never fat. It was amazing.
I finally asked him one day how he did it.
"You mean I never told you the secret to gaining weight? Come outside and I'll fill you in."
Now remember, we're at Westside Barbell. And this guy wants to go outside to talk so no one else can hear. Think about that for a minute. What the hell is he going to tell me? This must be some serious shit if we have to go outside, I thought.
So we get outside and he starts talking.
"For breakfast you need to eat four of those breakfast sandwiches from McDonalds. I don't care which ones you get, but make sure to get four. Order four hash browns, too. Now grab two packs of mayonnaise and put them on the hash browns and then slip them into the sandwiches. Squish that shit down and eat. That's your breakfast."
At this point I'm thinking this guy is nuts. But he's completely serious.
"For lunch you're gonna eat Chinese food. Now I don't want you eating that crappy stuff. You wanna get the stuff with MSG. None of that non-MSG bullshit. I don't care what you eat but you have to sit down and eat for at least 45 minutes straight. You can't let go of the fork. Eat until your eyes swell up and become slits and you start to look like the woman behind the counter."
"For dinner you're gonna order an extra-large pizza with everything on it. Literally everything. If you don't like sardines, don't put 'em on, but anything else that you like you have to load it on there. After you pay the delivery guy, I want you to take the pie to your coffee table, open that fucker up, and grab a bottle of oil. It can be olive oil, canola oil, whatever. Anything but motor oil. And I want you to pour that shit over the pie until half of the bottle is gone. Just soak the shit out of it."
"Now before you lay into it, I want you to sit on your couch and just stare at that fucker. I want you to understand that that pizza right there is keeping you from your goals."
This guy is in a zen-like state when he's talking about this.
"Now you're on the clock," he continues. "After 20 minutes your brain is going to tell you you're full. Don't listen to that shit. You have to try and eat as much of the pizza as you can before that 20-minute mark. Double up pieces if you have to. I'm telling you now, you're going to get three or four pieces in and you're gonna want to quit. You fucking can't quit. You have to sit on that couch until every piece is done.
And if you can't finish it, don't you ever come back to me and tell me you can't gain weight. 'Cause I'm gonna tell you that you don't give a fuck about getting bigger and you don't care how much you lift!"
Did I do it? Hell yeah. Started the next day and did it for two months. Went from 260 pounds to 297 pounds. And I didn't get much fatter. One of the hardest things I've ever done in my life, though.
Dammit I feel like going to the gym today, I think because I actually had a really good solid sleep for once. But last time I overworked myself (the day I posted that picture) it took me 3 days to recover

"dieting" sucks
i know how u feel bro
but these pics motivated right when it was back day
worked out today with 7 hours of sleep and had 6 hours of sleep 2 days ago..
still got through it but not with the same pump, sleep makes you refreshed as hell and motivated if you workout first thing in the morning
That's me every day bro. I normally can't sleep more than 7 hours, and 6 is usual. Which is weird because I have no reason ever to get up other than whenever the fuck I want
Got like 10 hours last night, thanks to some melatonin at 10pm
I dunno man, when I wake up to piss or whatever, I usually can't fall back asleep. I just lay there 'trying' to sleep, and eventually just get up after 30-60 minutes of laying there.

k i think i know what my problem is now ...
i'm always googling and youtubing shit, for new exercises to do
at home i'm like , but when i get to the fitness centre i'm like
i find working out alone (for me) much better than working out with friends. i do too much talking, and not enough lifting. sometimes i sit there after doing a set and start daydreaming ...
i need motivation and commitment ... gotta get my ass on track
I just watched this tonight for motivation tomorrow. Going hard as a mother on squats tomorrow.

Been getting great workouts in since I've been working nights. Get up around lunch time, go to the gym first thing and it's pretty dead at that time and I'm full of energy. Back when I was working days id be working 630am to 5pm and then by the time I got to the gym at 6 I was tired as fuck and the gym is packed at that time as well. It makes such a difference Posted via RS Mobile
ugh ever since stopping the stronglift program and going back to my original routine, 5 days a week a muscle group a day.. my strength has been decreasing in bench/deadlift/ and dumbell presses
Seems like quite a few people here have had a struggle gaining some weight. Any here have the opposite problem? Any former fatties here?
240 lbs here. That sucked :P

If you're getting weaker, then maybe you should go back to stronglifts.
If anyone needs a gym and doesn't mind going to vancouver community centers, they have a deal now where you can buy a $50 gift cert and get another $10. So buy 6 of them and you have $360 worth which lets you buy a one year pass for $300. Works out to $25/month.
i just want to say its fantastic seeing all the new named in here and how motivated you guys are. im feeding off your guys' drive too.
just remember to not get too carried away over complicating things. sometimes we spend too much time thinking about lifing and forget to actually just lift. keep it simple, keep it compound, keep it heavy, keep good form, and keep eating.
I actually used to be closer to 300...not sure what my exact weight was but I was a huge balloon probably around 280-290. It sucked balls lol. You got any progress pictures? I think it'd be quite inspirational. I wouldn't mind posting mine
I just measured again for you Berz, cause you're my 6'3" brother from another mother. Of course I'm broflexing in a pub for the ladies. No idea where this string came from. 17 and 3/8's to be exact.
