Saw someone at the gym who, if you were to only see him waist up you might guess 220 lbs. But from waist down you'd probably say 160.
But he was doing hack squats, so at least he's addressing the issue Posted via RS Mobile |

Note that I am NOT criticizing that method, or anyone's goals. I just think it's interesting. In MY personal pursuit of bigness, if a muscle or group doesn't get big doing actual compound LIFTS, then I don't care about it. I just want to be big, strong, and fast. Not 'pretty'.
I look at this giant cartoon man and see him doing 2.5 lbs to stretch out his fascia from swelling and just.... I doubt guys like Reggie Bush or Brock Lesnar are doing things like that (Overeem might though ), and they would tear this guy a part.. he was getting winded just talking after doing those demonstrations with no weights at all
AGAIN I am not shitting on the people who do things like this, but if you didn't think about it this way before, I thought it would make for an interesting topic to consider. Feel free to Thank or rip me a new one or share your thoughts or whatever |

These couple pages will just undoubtedly get lost. | Anyway you can make it a locked thread by invite only, where we post our before pics up first week of January, and then maybe follow up 6 months later, and once again at the one year mark?
As for me, my goals are to maintain a proper diet for the whole year. Posted via RS Mobile |

I noticed he was out of breath just from talking too after doing no weight demonstration. Lol. He's a bodybuilder NOT a weight lifter. They are completely different. There have only been a few "weight lifters" that are also Bodybuilders... Ronnie being the best. Most early body builders were weight lifters but that's changed with the "progression" of the sport.
Berz out.

Bb show blue shirt guy wins Posted via RS Mobile | That's just a matter of opinion. A lot (probably most) think that bodybuilders look like goofballs. I almost couldn't watch that video because the guy looked so ridiculous.
Even when I watch CT's videos on T-Nation, he has probably packed on 20-30 lbs since starting them, and now it's hard to take him seriously because he just looks so... absurd... even though he is giving the same advice.. he just doesn't look like a normal person anymore.
But that doesn't mean these people are "right!" TO EACH THEIR OWN. But it's all just personal taste.

c-thib is so true, his face looks really fat sometimes cause he so short. But i mean anaconda works that well right stacked with indigo and the new bcaa's haha

Bodybuilders build muscle. Weight lifters build strength. Muscle is a side effect of strength. Obviously you get stronger with more muscle but more muscle doesn't make you stronger.
Skinny there comes a point where everyone looks absurd depending on your own personal preferences. I wouldn't want to look like Lesnar I don't care how strong he is. I wouldn't want to look like a fat out of shape old man but be able to bench press/squat/lift 800lbs but I also wouldn't want to look like a 260lb shredded BB. Like you said it's all personal taste.

I just found it interesting, that's all. Just a perfect video to show the difference. A giant guy talking about lifting 2.5 lb weights... the whole thing is funny, and a lot of guys will believe him just because he's so big. Maybe he uses Indigo and Anaconda too, right? If you're on that stuff, it's all about targeting right?
Oh and that's how GSP packed on 15 lbs of muscle last year too right? |

A stronger muscle is a bigger muscle
and I think in order to achieve a physique near perfect a man has to practice every aspect of the human body. Getting stronger, getting more explosive power, being flexible, training endurance, and cardiovascular training as well. That's just my opinion

If a stronger muscle is a bigger muscle then Phil Heath, Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman would all be the strongest men in the world. That's not the case, not even by a long shot.

I saw dedication today. Probably the most impressive chest i've ever seen on a sub 170-180lb guy. Unfortunately, everything else was... not there. I must say, he had some serious dedication, and I may have learned a new exercise or two from his regimented chest routine. I should probably try them out.
Since I don't seem to be getting any upper chest development throughout the last few years, I'm trying to include a partial chest day (ontop of my chest/back day) into my leg day. Maybe it just needs to be hammered on more?
