if youre eating and sleeping right, 48-72 hours in between and your muscles have recovered.

Your overtraining your shoulders and tri's. Take a look at your monday, tues and wed all of them are using your shoulders and tris.!:suspicious:

Fcukedd 01-06-2012 02:56 PM

Dude stop telling people that they are overtraining or to get rid of exercises in their routine without giving an explanation on why to do so.

RRxtar 01-06-2012 02:56 PM

i will just add. overtraining is more of a CNS issue, not a muscle issue. CNS overload comes from fucking heavy full body compound movements or real high intensity volume training of compound movements.

so unless youre supersetting your deadlifts with squats EVERY DAY, or lifting with an intensity where youre puking and passing out at the end of your workouts EVERY DAY, youre probably not overtraining.

if you ever say "hey i wonder if ill be overtraining if i do another set", youre not even close. overtraining means your body has given up and shut down.

theres a saying "theres no such thing as over training, just under eating"

your body is capable of a whole lot more than your mind is. if you take a day or 2 off a week, or a deload week here and there, youre fine.

if olympic athletes and pro athletes can train 6 hours a day every day, you can hit the gym for 6 hours a week total.

Excelsis 01-06-2012 03:02 PM

yea Triple your recovery is not the same as other people, don't assume everyone has the same body type as you

and for a tip to the guys doing 5x5, run a mile or so every day or 2 days, you'll notice your recovery between sets will get faster

Amen to this. Unless you're working out everyday fulltime, you aren't overtraining.

It's most likely a case of you needing to rest more, eat more and man the fuck up more.

All you need is a squat exercise:fuckyea:.

That's actually good news for me as I always assumed doing heavy squats and deadlifts will easily burn 500+ calories. We tend to do pretty similar exercises when we hit the gym; probably a bit more isolation for me. How much calories do you think you burn per workout? Thanks for the rowing example btw. :fullofwin:

Maybe 350 at best. It's not very much

A bit more isolation? :p I dont do any isolation. :fuckthatshit: I think I've done isolation maybe once.

Maybe you just don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Explain to me how olympic weighlifting athletes can train multiple times a day every day doing the same exercises over and over again.

agreed. he lookes meaner. fuck i was only able to muscle out 4x5 on squats today.. they were just exhausted and still sore from wednesday. I KNOW its because i haven't been getting enough sleep. only 6hrs each night..then a full 8hr work on my feet...then gym :fuckthatshit: but ye lol

i got a quick question though, for bench press i've gotten into the habit that instead of gripping the bar with straight wrists, my hands seem to fold inwards (if that makes sense) so my hands + wrist make like an upside down L cept not 90 degree but mroe like 45 lol do you guys get what i mean ? if so is that bad ? a buddy told me to grip the bar when im doing it as hard as i can but i feel weaker when i do that lol perhaps my grip is just shitty

hx2gls 01-06-2012 05:50 PM

Today was my off day but I decided to goto the gym to do some cardio anyways. My friends were deadlifting so I joined in and managed to pull 275x2 pretty easily. Suddenly my goal of 315 doesn't seem so far away
