Posted this rant on facebook, thought I should post it here. Although for some reason no girls coem to this thread, maybe someone wants to share such a rant with girls they know who go to the gym:
I see it all the time at the gym, and feel I should point it out for any girls wanting to get in shape. The fact is, girls do NOT have to work out different than men. It doesn't work that way. Just think of it this way. If a guy does PERFECT training and has a PERFECT diet, he is going to have a great male physique. If a woman does perfect training with perfect diet, do you think she'll get a great male physique? NO! It doesn't work that way. HUMANS need to train the same way.
So if you want to get in shape, stop the million ab crunches and leg squeezes and weak ass cable pulls. Go do some squats and chinups and get HAWT!

amen to both of those..personal trainers are usually shit.
One of the many reasons I think im going to quit FW and make SC my permanent gym. Those trainers not only walk around like they own the goddamn place, but they give me shit for dropping weights and using chalk what do they do with their clients? All machines + smith .. because its easiest to teach.
If I was a newb, I wouldn't need a professional to tell me how to use a machine that has perfectly good instructions written on the side of it .. I'd want a trainer to show me deadlift/squat/bench/OHpress/cleans/powercleans etc.
Another new PB set tonight during my arm workout. Overhead tricep extension, full set of 8 with the 105lb dumbbell. That might not seem that big for most people but I have long ass arms (elbow tip to fingertip is 20").
It's always tough to stay motivated during the "offseason" of winter but this thread has really helped keep me focused. Thanks all.

Wait..if you go SFU, isnt their gym accessible? Or does it not suit your needs

have you ever used a incline bench with the full back?
that helped me with shoulder problems with that movement takes a load off
gaah, my bose ie2 earphones seem like they're not giving me enough music, anyone know good isolation earphones which don't fall out of your ears? and it'd be great if they stay in when i run too

uhm no i haven't. But haven't been doing incline since starting stronglift. when i'm done with this, i'll be going back to a reg routine and will obviously incorporate incline and will try this. Thanks

THIS! I fucked my rotator cuff using just a flat bench. Now my new gym's incline bench doesnt go all the way up so im back to just dips and skullcrushers!
Riser under your feet? Usually for DL you want your feet as low as possible to make the ROM a bit shorter. I take my shoes off personally
yeah dude thanks for that tip earlier, i thought my technique was wrong when doing squats and deadlifts, something didn't feel right in those running shoes. So much easier

Yeah man just like in the pic (except for that green elastic thing). cause if you think about it with the 45s on the bar that's like 8 inches or whatever above the ground you arent taking advantage of. And with the riser you can go that much lower, you should try it, it works really good.
