Maybe 200, I'm more or less seeing how low body fat I can get to. I have dieted really well this time and it's paying off. Stregth has gone down a bit but I'm not worried at all Posted via RS Mobile
What are your thoughts? The kids actually a partner with youtube and has thousands of subscribers... Seeing he's shredded to the max, I'd assume he knows his stuff... but he just doesn't have the size... he's 5'10 and weighs 132 Imo, I don't think he has the genetics to go elite with bodybuilding, but I'd think he'd make a superb martial artist/track and field athlete cus he def has the conditioning, strength and endurance... This kinda reflects a bit on myself back when I was younger... I was very well conditioned but really lacked in size.. Just something to think about
There are no principles, there are only events. There is no good and bad, there are only circumstances. The superior espouses events and circumstances in order to guide them.
was doing squats and then she comes by and tells me to put on my shoes because if the bar falls on my feet i'll be safer..
ya ok i will magically get the weight from doing a back squat to somehow come forward, pass through the safety rack and fall on my feet which as if my runners would support 300 pounds dropping on my feet
so when she walked away i took off my shoes and continued to do my sets
don't tell me what to do
I used to go to this community center gym often until this one staff told me not to squat without shoes. She's the only staff who has heckled me in the 2 years that I've been going. I explained to her that for my sport, it is important I squat without shoes. When I didn't listen to her the next few times I went she threatened to kick me out if she saw me squat/deadlift without shoes again.
I don't see a problem with this. As long as I don't hurt myself and more importantly others around me it should be alright. I told her there are far more dangerous people she should be proctoring than me. I remember this one dude who was OH squatting outside the squat rack where people are walking around. One little bump and he could hurt someone.
Strangely enough, she allows vibrams as she had checked with her supervisors. I've even seen guys in dress shoes and those hospital crocs who work out and she never bothers them. I called her a bully.
It's sad when gym enthusiasts have to stop training at their favorite gym because of ignorance.
I am 187. Started cutting at 200 Nov 6 and been losing a pound a week.
I have never cut before and now I am thinking I started too early. Posted via RS Mobile
Had a fantastic workout. Hit a new pr of 220 lbs for 3 reps on squat, and 132 lbs by 5 on overhead press (not push press). Also did barbell rows and 1 arm cable press. Posted via RS Mobile
good workout today...kinda everything went good on squats (190lbs PR for me) i was only able to do 4x5 as towards the end of my 4th set my right thigh kinda started hurting more then my left so i thought perhaps i should stop.. and then i went into mili press..only to stop into the first set as it really puts a bad strain on my left shoulder, perhaps its the way i hold it. So i decided perhaps i should cut this off from the stronglift =/ cus i really dont want to hurt myself as i move my arms/shoulders around a lot at work. So i just went and did some sitting shoulder presses. Do you guys suggest i just cut the mili press out ? Plus i noticed i have bad form..my back always archs a lot

Would not cut out military press but definitely re-evaluate your form. Most, if not all, injuries or pain are due to poor form.
Also, space out your chest/shoulder days. Incline bench/flat bench will stress the crap out of your shoulders, training shoulders the following day is a pretty good way to injure yourself.

edit: Just read you did squats ... you probably tweaked it holding the bar when you were squatting and it just got worse with military press.
perhaps ill start with mili press before squats? and im on stronglift, so technically each workout has a day in between for rest. but i always follow the routine which would be
A : squats/mili/DL
B : squats/bench/rows

For one thing you don't arch your back, you push your hips out. Use hip drive to get the bar up and lock out.
Since you don't have a "shoulder day" where you are beating the shit out of yourself for no gains or progress, you don't have to worry about injuries. Just form.
Squat shouldn't affect performance on any upper body lift unless you're killing yourself with them or (again) have poor form. Always start with squats, it's the most important lift and should be done with the most effort you can muster up. Posted via RS Mobile
That looks painful, especially on the legs and around the underbelly of the knee.
How much was it? It looks like it's portable.
It was priced at $45 at FitnessTown but my buddy who works there got it for me at $30 taxes in.
I've used a lot of things to roll out my legs (Foam roller, PVC pipie, Wine bottle, medicine ball, lacrosse ball, rolling pin) but this scary sex toy has done wonders. It got all the knots out in the first roll.
I've probably never cried so much in my life though. It hurts so good.

triceps are still lagging
what do you guys usually do for your triceps?
i've been doing dips, tricep rope & bar extensions, and close-grip bench presses. miniscule progress

i think i'm lifting heavy enough. i do like 3 sets of 10 reps for the extensions and i struggle on the last 1-2 reps.
i really want to try new exercises though
