if your knees hurt while you're doing squats you're either doing the exercise wrong because you may not be going lower than parallel or because you shouldn't be doing squats if you've had an injury in the past or something similar

take a break from squats and focus on getting them stronger the last thing you want is a blown knee

Do knee rehab excersi2s, strengthen your knees, take glucosamin, and when doing squats go ass to grass for a period of time. I had badd knee problems a few years back because I always fell on them as a kid, and they're a lot better now. Strengthening knee/hamstrings helps pull the knee joint back, relieving stress off the knee, a2g squats use a glutes/hammys a lot.

Or visit a sports med doc for more help

Have you tried SierraSil? Might not be effective if it's been such a long-running issue, but may be worth a shot.

I think before he tries serralsil or another joint pain relief pill, he should strengthen that knee.

These temporary joint relief pills might give him the illusion he can squat heavy again and might give that knee an extra boost to bust.

Just a thought.

Just out of curiousity, how many of you guys here can do 3 plates or more on bench press? If you can, how long did it take you to get that high?

3 years for me
bench press is really hard to move up imo after 3 plate, i have been stuck at 4 plates for prob close to over a solid year now
if u want a high bench you constantly have to bench all the time for it to stay up, im sure most will say the same,
i am happy with being able to go in the gym and rep 3 plates that is good for me , doing singles on bench does really nothing for me just looks bad ass and is more of a ego thing, much rather stick to dunbells to build chest, i also like to do incline barbell over flat now

but that is just my 2 cents

yeah eventually you'll get to a point where your knees are going to have some issues

but you could do exercises to strengthen them.. but if you have pain that keeps on persisting i don't know.. it sucks not being able to squat
