smashed back and shoulders today
came home, made tuna salad pita things from the food thread for lunch tomorrow, had protain shake, then decided my tuna things looked really tastey, but didnt want to eat my lunch, so i made the deep fried chicken things from the food thread as well with 2 chicken breasts
i dunno how you guys cutting can do it, i love food way to much
Fixed my form, Fuck when my hammies fired it scared me. Pulled 365 cleanly and then backed off (remembered I'm supposed to be going for volume .. got carried away haha). Got out 135 x 5 (warm up ... there was a guy watching me like "oh this fatty must be a new years resolutioner" .. then he kept watching as I added on another plate, then another plate, then a 25 come at me bra), 225x5, 315x5, 335x1, 365x1, 275x5, 245x5, 225x5. All this on a cut .. heavy volume pump All raw too surprised my grip held out
Well my goal is 315 x5 Hopefully we will all be in the 315 range by the summer time.
Squatted 245... been steadlily going down with squatting once a week. Tried the barbell one arm rows like the t-nation article. 10 reps in each of the 4 positions... x3. Felt good! Used 2 25lb plates on the olympic bar.
This morning did 295x5 DL, liquid chalk, mixed grip, cutting. Warmed up at 225x5 then jumped to 295. Bad idea. Was dizzy as fawk after first rep. Had to rest 5-10 seconds and reset after each rep.
Race to 3 plate DL

I think I may pull out of the competition before even starting.
Finally my shoulder recovered after over a year of ongoing issues. Today I attempted some DL's for the challenge.
Hammered out 315 x 5, and felt pretty good so decided to try 365. Couldn't even get it off the ground. This was all mixed grip, and it was slightly uncomfortable. If I get competitive willprobably eff it up even more. Don't want to risk it.

form does look pretty good to me. have you just started DLing again after taking all that time off? maybe just give it a few weeks or a month of not pulling anything heavier to get your body back in the game
the strength usually doesnt go away in the big muscles, but the stability in the tiny ones goes away quickly, and those are the ones that keep you from hurting yourself, and they are generally the ones that get hurt. you know when you dont lift for a while and then go hard again and something feels sore that hasnt for a while? its usually those little muscles you dont even know about. back and shoulders are full of them.
i took 6 months off DLs and when i started back up i could still pull 4 plates but instead i just pulled 3 plates for like 8 reps for 4 or 5 weeks before starting to go heavier again.
cant just pick up heavy deadlifts from the start. really really gotta work into them since so much of your body is involved including all the little things that dont ever see any work otherwise.
Been doing a little bit here and there. Always sticking to a double overhand grip to take it easy on the shoulder which means i'm sticking around 2 plates. I should probably just continue with that.
