lol god, you sound like those retarded kids at SC....maybe its me, but I find it more logical to pay less or more for another gym that has better equipment and members that aren't so filthy; is it to damn hard to re-rack the weights after ur finished instead of just leaving it on the ground everywhere?? Does it make any sense to spit on the workout floor? jesus, my rant can go on forever regarding SC.
If the management team doesn't *really* care, then the members wont either. I'm not gonna partake in any of that nonsense. I used to clean up the entire heavy weight rack from time to time just to keep shit in order...

.... SC is only good at midnight - 1pm....when kids from the surrounding schools and those wannabe gangsters are still sleeping or schooling.

why would I want to "work with what you can" when I can go somewhere else thats better?:rukidding:

Good on you that you like to work for free and clean up your environment but I will tell you now, people will ALWAYS leave there weights lying around no matter where you work out, get used to it.

My point being about my previous post is just that you can work almost every muscle with just free weights and a incline/decline bench. So for you to bitch about your gym having "crappy equipment" is a bit of a stretch. And yes I know you complained about the kids who workout there, trust me I know. Im currently east of LA having to workout at 24 hour fitness that is CONSTANTLY crowded with high school Mexicans wearing sideways hats and basketball jerseys.

I don't think switching gyms is really your concern, those "retarded kids" and lack of upkeep is everywhere man :okay: .

I no longer fit size L shirts, but XL's are a bit baggy and don't look good :okay:
Spoiler!

I hear you man. Surprised at the amount of school kids and wannabe gangsters, given SC's weird secluded location.

I wasn't going to renew but when those bumper plates came in, those were a godsend. Not many places have bumper plates, and the ones that do prob charge quite a bit more than SC/month

i have never had a prob at SC sure the dumbells are messy sometimes but the people there are generally nice
I go around 6 and only see a few high school kids
just carry a pic of berz around and tell all the brownies hes your cousin

JHatta 03-01-2012 03:46 PM

Probably a stupid question, but is there logic in combining muscle groups for workouts (back/biceps, chest/back, etc...)?

Is it better to pick muscle groups that are generally unrelated with one another so that you end up working more total muscles?

Berzerker 03-01-2012 03:55 PM

That is a common training practice. With splits you can either do opposite muscles.

Chest and Bi
Back and Tri
Legs and Shoulders

Or you can do muscles that help each other.

Chest and Tri
Back and Bi

Your choice

Berz out.

I guess the theory behind splits is that you are able to get a more "full" body workout because you are attacking a larger range of muscles, and secondary/tertiary muscles. With the more focused training approach (muscles that help one another), it's more targeted and you can really punish certain muscle groups because you are repeatably working the same area?

Is that at all accurate?

SkinnyPupp 03-01-2012 04:08 PM

Yes and it's great for steroid users :)

JHatta 03-01-2012 04:10 PM

^I'm not using steroids.....just trying to use my time effectively.

hx2gls 03-01-2012 04:25 PM

IMO the logic behind chest/tris back/bis is that you are already working the secondary muscle on that day so you might as well finish them off. Chest/bis back/tris and Chest, Back, Arms split is that you feel that you need to hit your arms twice a week.
