Halo I love you because you do a better job of listening to my advice than I do myself :fuckthatshit:

Jordan : EAT MOAR :accepted:

Never seen extra virgin coco oil. I only have a product called natural coconut oil? What's the difference? Does it still come as a solid?

hal0g0dv2 04-07-2012 08:43 AM

Virgin Coconut Oils (VCO) - Unrefined coconut oil

The term “VCO” in the coconut oil industry means that this form of coconut oil processing is the most unrefined and most natural form and no artificial filtering or expeller pressing is used.

The oil remains in its most natural form and retains a rich smell and sweet taste of coconut.

Most virgin oils are extracted by a number of methods. High temperatures and chemical solvents are not used, so the oil retains its naturally occurring phytochemicals (plant chemicals) which produce a distinctive coconut taste and smell.
Coconut oil is commonly divided into two broad categories:

RBD (refined, bleached, deodorized)
“Virgin”.
The difference between the two is in the amount of processing the oil undergoes.

Refined Coconut Oil

Refined oil is commonly regarded as lower quality than virgin oil and is typically made from copra (dried kernel - meat) of the coconut, which is made by drying coconut in the sun.

I love my new vibram fivefingers! Who those that have em, how long did it take to break em in? Its really snug around my toe area.

Squat day! First time pushing for a 1 rep max on squats. Pretty damn happy considering at one point in my life I used to bench more than I squat lol.

Pretty dead at the gym this morning. Then I remembered it was Easter Sunday :p

Nice and quiet for leg day. Squats followed up by the leg press, and shit load of stiff legged deads (Ohhh so good) and some calf variations.

Looks like that's my next program. I've always wanted to try it but never had experience or enough strength for certain lifts that were in the program.

A year has passed, strength is phenomenal, form is almost perfect; I'm ready.

Just make sure to watch all the videos for each day!
Also keep a log
I did shoulders for 4 weeks
And legs for 3 weeks
Chest for 4 weeks
Back for 4 weeks
Once you get into it, it's so good.

Haha yeah I've been watching the videos repeatedly. Very strict form in order to be successful for this program. I was actually going to cycle it the same way as you did. 4 weeks for each phase.

Finished Phase 1 - Monday today and wow, Top-Half Seated Overhead Press from Pins is no fuckin around. The strict and short movement from the pins and up is more difficult than I thought. Lol.

He mentions doing "feeler" sets instead of "warm-up" sets; did you follow that exactly? I was surprised about this and thought I wouldn't be able to get into the workset easily but I'm actually beginning to like "feeler" sets. Saves a lot of time in fact.

I'm so jealous about the 3" thick barbells they use in the videos.

hal0g0dv2 04-08-2012 02:20 PM

Yeah I did feeler sets it helps
And yes they use the best equipment

instantneedles 04-08-2012 06:19 PM

hey guys, i know alot of us eat red meat here, what is the health risk associated with eating too much red meat? I'm kinda hoping skinny will know

RRxtar 04-08-2012 06:33 PM

the akward moment when the front of your shorts is covered in chalk from adjusting your junk all the time while deadlifting.

Eat all the red meat you want. All that stuff about it being cancerous is baseless noise

The thing about these T-Nation programs is that they are usually not laid out very well.. I remember seeing a few videos here and there, but is there an actual program?

I know their v-diet workout program has a really nice layout.. does this one have one that is easy to follow?

For me, all my 'warmup' sets are 'feeler' sets. I just try to get a 'feel' of 2 or 3 different weights before I start my work.

Just make sure you buy lots of Anaconda Protocol, or it won't work

Go read the references on both sides. There is no support for the anti red meat people.

Also look at millions of years of history. Or species was built on eating a certain way. Only in the last 0.01% of our history has anyone brought up things like this.

SkinnyPupp 04-09-2012 12:28 AM

I think deadlift is what jacked my forearms. Although 330 is hardly heavy, it is probably too much for my t-rex arms :okay:

To play devil's advocate - only in the last 0.01% of our history with the innovation of factory farming and increased access to meats have humans had such red meat laden diets.

Actually it goes the other way. The more farming is prevalent, the less real food we eat. You can look at skeletal remains and mummified bodies to see exactly how the switch to agriculture affected our bodies. Egyptians were often fat diabetics with heart disease and rotten teeth.

But this thread isn't really the place for this, so let's just leave it at that

Yeah I bought 4 months supply for now for my first Phase of the program.

SkinnyPupp 04-09-2012 08:57 AM

Oh really I was kind of trolling in a way lol

Have fun drinking 4 litres of fluid in a few hours, after downing 2 or 3 protein bars :heckno:
