Do any of you guys work trade or other labor intensive jobs that require you to plan your recovery after working out? (might make new thread if this doesn't get any input)

What type of routine do you use to lift without hindering your work performance?

I am an electrician, so work is only heavy half of the time compared to some other trades. I'll usually lift on the weekends and when I know the following day will be an easy one.

At work I usually train pinch grips with rolls of wire, misc tools, and ladders. Sometimes at home I'll just carry a 200 lb bag of sand around the block for a quick work out. Lifting awkward objects builds a different type of strength compared to just barbells all the time.

DB or barbell?

for DBs, 120lbs for 2-3 max at the moment
sets of 10 reps for 100's
incline 100s for 6-7

for barbell - max was 325 lbs
usually do sets of 5 reps with 2 plates + 15 0r 25s on each side

nothing too impressive. doing high reps nowadays.

peck deck, put the seat all the way up and arch your back a bit over the seat like your head is almost touching the back of the machine and hold the top handles, chest was sore just after 4 sets, almost couldn't do 125's on dunbells flat

I own a Landscaping company so you can imagine the labor that is involved there. I work anywhere from 50-60 hours a week, and quite often will work 7 days a week for 3 or 4 weeks straight before taking a day off this time of year.

I goto the gym 5 days a week and lift heavy and hard. mon, tues, wed, fri, sat. And I dont do bullshit workouts.

My day usually goes work 7:30-5:30. shower, eat dinner. leave for gym at 7, home around 8:45. make lunch, some computer time, etc, bed at 10-10:30.

Eat A LOT and Sleep A LOT. If you feel 'over trained', sleep more. If you have to goto bed at 7pm on a Sunday to catch up on rest, that's what you have to do

It all comes down to how much you want it. and I want it all

For me doing DL's once a week or even more really helped me for some reason.
What i did to increase my weight was heavy rack pulls and a switch each week from lots of reps;moderate weight and the week after low reps;Heavy weight.
It worked for me to increase quick.

Did incline bench and flat bench 80s today. Starting to creep up again which I am happy about. Barbell bench press 185 all at 178lbs.

Cutting

Enjoyed the blonde girl with plenty of tats and a big rack wearing a small green tank top showing off her tits and mid drift with belly button piercing Think I saw her do a set of 5 reps on 5 difference machines. So things went better than expected. No pics

Been learning about animals and how they digest food. Tigers and lions to be exact, eat lean, no energy foods to stay lean and mean.

Connection to humans made

Pulled 245 for 5, new pr, and my shoulders are reallly weak, struggling on third week of 5x5 already on press lol

I used to hit 355 lbs on bench easy. Then I fucked up my shoulder.

Right now, 2 plates is very comfortable. 245 and above for reps makes it pinch. That's why I focus on dumbbells more now. My goal is to be able to hit 3 plates for a rep max just to be able to do it, and get my 3 rep total up over 1050lbs. If I maintain that and focus on reps, it'll be much more healthier for me.

Post some update pictures of yourself! How much do you weigh now? You're strong as fuck, and I wanna see how you've progressed since. Hope to bench 2 plates with ease one day

Awesome. Thanks for your reply.
I would love to go to the gym every day, but the thing is I work on ladders and rooftops and in attics. Some days I need to be 100% or else I could die, otherwise I totally would do it.
