It could also be possible that in one of your reps, you straightened out your knees too quickly making the exercise more of a lower back extension. I tend to do that often in the past before my strength coach corrected me. I felt soreness during the workout even with my 70% max which affected my next working sets. I've been really strict on making sure I don't straighten until the bar has reached my knees, and no "old man pain" since.

so my thumb/tendon part hasnt heal properly yet. And my doctor has advised me not to do a particular exercise ~ flat barbell bench
would it be okay if i just did inclines/declines with barbell and no flat bench? or try to switch it to DB?
Its just when i do flat bench I can feel my tendon ready to snap off.
And btw I am on starting strength (stronglift one)
edit: when i do incline with barbell, I cant really or feel the pain at all

i would say if you cant do flat barbell, you probably shouldnt do any barbell. dumbells are easier on your wrists and hands tho

yup my thumb is fucked still. Can't grip anything. I think it was from doing overhead dumbbell press, and not being careful about the grip since I was only using 40's with high force. Dammit it better heal fast

i remember i crashed my bike one time pretty hard and it seemed that one of my tendons in my thumb was gone, left thumb is now like hitchhiker's thumb :/

I dont think mine is that bad, at least I hope not. Ibuprofen is helping a little. I guess I just need to take a week off or so from weights and.. other things where I need to grip bars. Of all the weeks in a month for that too |
