Ugh...didn't get to my PR in Deads at 345, but hit 335Lb. Was drained like a wombat, I was mixing the two with chin-ups right after, for some reason.

But....4 Plates easy, by the end of year. And I'm actually starting to like cardio, was doing ellipiticals and was drenched after 5 minutes, keeping heart rate above 175 most of the time.

elite fts order comes today woot woot

TouringTeg 05-31-2012 07:56 AM

Bicycling to and from work today plus back/shoulders tonight. First time riding the bike to work and took about 20 min ride as opposed to 10 min drive.

I've been slacking on cardio since racing in a 10k then half marathon recently. This will force me to get more cardio

The one at gilmore right? I'm thinking of starting a membership there next month.. How is it? When do you usually go and when is it usually packed?

It's a good gym man, I usually go at lunch time so around 11:30 - 1:30, pretty quiet. I go twice a week in the evening too, like Friday nights. Not too busy at all man, there's more than enough room and access to stuff 80% of the times I go whether night or day.

what do you guys set the notch on for incline?

Incline should be at the lowest incline level possible. Any higher and you're using your shoulders, totally un-necessary.

Berzerker 05-31-2012 03:15 PM

Got a vid today. 100lb incline press for 6 on my 5th set. Will upload later.

Berz out.

He was a really big dude, arms were huge and a ton of bulky mass... He's not really cut though, just huge. but i could tell he was on something. He looked like he was middle eastern...

Everyone who trains there looks like they do competitive bodybuilding... It's definetly a good motivator though cus most people there put in their max effort all the time...

Is that guy who looks like Wolverine with a brown GF with the massive tits still there?

He use to be lean and huge then he just gave up or so it seemed. Cool guy though.

Nice lift man,

I noticed your right hand always goes slightly lower than your left. You might wanna pay attention to that next time.

hal0g0dv2 05-31-2012 07:44 PM

solid lift bro

Berzerker 05-31-2012 07:45 PM

My left shoulder has issues that's as low as I go with it :)

Berz out.

Good shit berz!!

I was going for 90s the other day and couldn't pull it off (current weight 178lbs)

Do you warm up with a lighter weight first? If so what weight?

if im going heavy on dunbells i go
warm up 80

then 105 for 5 then 115 for 5 then 125 for 5

i fine going up slowly works for me the best, cant really jump into heavy weights

Berzerker 05-31-2012 08:22 PM

On DB I do 2 warm up sets at 50% 15 reps. Then my working sets I increase 10lbs per set and decrease reps. I start at 70 for 10, 80 for 8-9, 90 for 7-8, then 2 sets of 100's to failure.

After that I go flat DB's and I start at 100's and see how I feel from there usually ending in 110's for 4-5 but only 3 sets. No warm up just straight into working sets cuz your already warmed up from the incline.

Then cable fly's and weighted dips.

Berz out.

instantneedles 05-31-2012 08:27 PM

^hmm, if it restricts your ROM that much, it might be a good idea to rest it off for a bit first before liftin that heavy... But you def are playin smart by doing incline bench as opposed to flat bench, cus flat bench is gonna put u at risk for further tissue damage

Regardless though, solid lift...

SkinnyPupp 05-31-2012 08:32 PM

Berz have you tried neutral grip? Does it help? If you recall, I was complaining about bad shoulder pain for a while here.. For the last 4-5 weeks, all my chest work has been with neutral grip (db work, dips, cable press) and I haven't had any pain since.
