Question for cutting carbs.. Gonna try for under 50grams at first .. Is it bad if I have more than 2 protein shakes a day for snacks, or before bed? Planning for atleast one post workout, and then any additional to fill in any hungry periods.

I take the isoflex.. Forgot the numbers, but its something like 1 or 2 carbs per shake if I recall.

P.S. On a side note, I don't know if I got f'ed up knees, but my left one felt some pain during squats. I remember some recommendations for the sports physio's, any suggestions? I found a great reviewed guy in North Van, but any in Van? (I'm only at 2 plates for reps, so it kind of blows I'm feeling knee pain so early.)

hey man, i got the exact same problem as you.

It was what a bodybuilder told me, but when you're doing squats, do a wider stance, and pivot your foot so your toes point towards a 45 degree angle. It'll be alot less taxing on your knees and you'll be able to work you quads and hams in the process.. Double win

And for leg press if you do it, place your feet at a higher point on the platform, and you'll feel less pressure on your knee.

hope that helps

Yeah, I've been doing the wider stance and foot angled outwards (Rippletoe).

I remember someone here asked if anyone with knees that go inward and if they have trouble squatting. I have knees that go inward, and wasn't feel pain until I went over 2 plates, maybe my knees just suck?

I concur.. Same issue with knee, and both wider stance, and higher feet placement on the board will be less painful.

Squats: wider stance, use hips more. Focus on driving hips up, not pushing up with chest(from rippetoe). High weights; high bar gets reallly tough.
Stalled on squats for 3rd time now, just going to stop the 5x5 there :( and continue with bench dead and row till I stop progressing. Will be stretching shoulders/hammies, building cushion for low bar.

Forearm pumps :sweetjesus:

Interesting.....what is up with your Knee Xplicit?

Because I've been overdoing deads, and maybe that's why my Knee issues kept reoccurring. Though, I felt slight discomfort after heavy deadlift days, but felt it wasn't holding me back.

well i got into a car accident back in..october and i didnt start to feel any pain that knee until about mid december..and never got it looked until maybe 2-3months later, and what my physio said was since i limped a lot i overworked some muscles more then others, thats why it puts a lot of strain in my knee. So what we were doing thru physio was strengthening those muscles that were weaker.. but then i had surgery and stopped doing it and i guess nwo theyre weak again, so when i did deads today i felt a sharp pain again in my knee :okay:

I started out in mid January of this year...

EDIT: I did workout before, but that was two years ago, and it was very improper training....then I gave up, until i decided to change things around this year.

Leg Day - Going to try Hack Squats!

I've been on and off for the last 9 years sigh. I can't believe it's been that long yikes. I seem to go in phases of a couple years at a time, then it dies out. What i've learned. The only time you get any where is when your consistent!
