Since we're all posting pics... here's me in April at about 175lbs. Went on vacation for 6 weeks and now I'm 4-5lbs heavier and a little fatter all over.
Squats and deadlifts have gone up though which makes getting a little chubbier not so bad.

Guys, if you guys are looking to get some cheap chalk and don't want to shell out the extra cash, just buy a pack of chalk from the dollar store and mash it up with hammer yourself. I know quite a few people that do it this way and it works just as well..

Ok, after doing some thinking last night I finally came to a conclusion on why I'm not down with this whole "shredded" thing.
ANYONE can get shredded. All it takes is diet and really no physical effort whatsoever. When I see someone who is super low on bodyfat all I think is skinny bitch. Unless that person is huge. If your even mediocre build and your under 10% bodyfat (this is just my opinion) you just look like an anorexic male. Skinny posted a pic awhile back of a guy who did IF who used to do 5 meals a day. That is a perfect example of how looking shredded actually looks worse. (Again this is just my personal perspective on the subject)

Diet alone isn't going to get you cut with a six pack, well defined and bulging pecs, visible deltoid striations, and a carved up back... I think you might be mixing up being straight up skinny with well-proportioned, visible muscles which is what I would call shredded. There has to be a size factor as well or the so-called shredded person would just be skinny...
Ideally, if you're not a very active person and don't workout at all, any sort of diet 2-3 meals a day would start hitting your fat stores...
But yeah, there are alotta guys out there that are skinny as heck, and have a nice six pack. I wouldn't really call that shredded though... Shredded would have to encompass everything else too, with pecs, back, shoulders, and arms... things that you can only get from training.

i have always wanted to give bulking a try but never really knew how or have the funds to do it, but i might give it a shot after summer and try for 185/190. i usually walk around at about 170ish with half assed eating habits and cut to 160
Im going to start stronglifts 5x5 next week, and when i put values in for some exercises on the spreadsheet, it says:
"Based on the starred lift(s) above, you may be too strong for StrongLifts 5x5. Please start with StrongLifts 3x5 instead of StrongLifts 5x5"
I couldn't find any info on 3x5, but Im assuming its 3 sets of 5 reps, nothing changed. Can anyone confirm this?
TIA

yep 3x5 is same as 5x5. But just go with 5x5 if you think you can do it. i know ppl switched to 3x5 instead of 5x5 because they think 5x5 is too much. so up to you.. and can you elaborate what you mean by too strong? lol that makes no sense. give us what you typed in for your 1RM for the exercise that said it. ill asnwer when im back from gym lol
