Forgot about that thread so I went back and read what I posted. I surpassed all my goals with the exception of the muscle-ups. I was just getting around to trying them in late June before I went on vacation and then started my military training.
This past year, I did a lot of experimenting in the gym and figured out what worked best for me in terms of strength gain. Although I didn't reach my goals, I think I will be soon before 2014. Going on Wendler's 5/3/1 next week, and this will be my first time on a real program after 2 years of training.
I destroyed my goals this year.
1 plate 25 bench? I got 2 plates.
3 plate deadlift? I got 4
2 plate 25 squat? I got 3.
I had the best last workout of the year. Hit 205 close grip bench for three reps. I'm gonna get it for three or four sets next time. Happy new year everyone!
Good luck with your shredded goals of 2013 Posted via RS Mobile
545 Dead lift back in May.
405 Raw Back Squat last month.
275 Bench two months ago.
Goals by the end of 2013: Get back to where I was once half a year ago on my deads, squat 455, 300 pound bench, 15 rep pullups for sets, master the front lever and muscle up.
Happy New Year everyone! Set realistic fitness goals, pursue and achieve them!
i switched up from chasing numbers on low reps to high rep 9-12+ this year and have added in a lot more exercises broscience tells you is for phaggots like flies and raises. and have made more size gains than ever. and im not constantly in pain from beat up joints.
that being said, you cant squat 65lbs all day and make gains. you gotta get strong first.

I think mixing it up is always a good idea. You will want to go back to heavy eventually
