I've tried IF and eventually it just gets to be too much of a pain in the ass unless it already worked into your eating schedule to begin with.

For those who have tried IF, I'm curious to how long your "window" for food intake is?
Some people keep it at four hours a day some at eight hours.

I tried IF for a week with an 8 hour window (12 pm - 8 pm). I just decided it was not for me. I feel sick when I do not eat. But that was not even the main issue for me. I simply could not stick to this kind of an eating schedule. It was too burdensome!

IMO, every diet that involves some sort of an extreme will eventually fail. Take Atkins for instance. It was probably the only fab diet I stuck to for 3 months and I did lose close to 20 lbs. BUT to make low carb eating my "lifestyle" - no thanks. I hated going out with friends and avoiding an occasional pizza and beer, or NOT eating popcorn with my gf when we went to the cinema. It was too much of a hassle.

Eventually, I figured out that it all comes down to my daily caloric intake and how I manage it. My BMR is close to 3,000 cal, so to gain weight and strength I go 500 cal over it, or if I want to "cut" I go 500 cal under it (and try not to eat simple carbs after 6pm + cardio 3 times per week of rest days). This works for me.

I have the 5 fingers kso, that piece of shit ripped by the left toe in a span of 2 months. Good for lifting but i would not recommend these for outdoor activities.

I got my Adidas Powerlift Trainers off ebay.com Seller: jtm003oao He is in Oregon and he ships US Post/Canada Post so no tax. $115 CDN total. I recommend trying on Adidias shoes to figure out your size first. I normally wear 10.5 but went with 11 and they are nice and snug.

I'm going to deadlift in them tonight and will report back. I prefer to deadlift in socks but my community gym requires shoes. I have been told to put my shoes back on once already.

And ya I don't do cardio in them either.

Okay, so over the fall I got a nagging cold and bronchitis for about a month which greatly set me back on my lifts.

The past few months since I've been doing 5x5 and compound lifts (squat, dl, bench, cleans, push press/ohp) to get my strength back up.

Come February I want to move to routine for size, can anybody recommend a legit program to start off with?

yeeeeeeeeeeee.

World of difference when I remember to take my adderall.

It's scary how undistracted and how much I get done.

I should probably switch to strattera which is a permanent fix to my ADHD.

Day one of IF.

At at 2:30. Had spag + meat sauce + 2 eggs.

My last meal will be a lamb chop and some almonds. at 8.

Workout was mediocre. I am sick so I may have lost some strength at the bench. I was only able to do 285 today x 4, but I did do incline, weighted dips and bosu ball pushups followed by 15 minutes of medium intensity cardio.

I GOT THIS LETS DO IT.

Worked up to 455 on deads today and pulled it 2 times. Going to try to go for 475 next week and then 5 plates the week after. Have a question though... How do you guys work up to your max? What increments do you go by? I do 225, 315, 365, 405, and then max. I feel like I drain myself out too much as I do 3 reps for all of those weights.

I do something very similar to you. I do 2 sets with the bar, 135, 225, 315 then straight to my working sets. I rarely attempt max pulls.

Thanks. I'm thinking of either not doing 405 or 365....

Any advice on increasing deadlifts? Mine has stalled for a LONG time, and I can't seem to get it up (insert homo jokes here). I'll be going on Wendler for deadlifts very shortly, but maybe I can work on a short term program/style of training before doing so.

I personally get the best gains from doing doubles (sometimes triples) anywhere between 85-95% of my max. I try to go for a PR every other week by adding 10-15 lbs to my previous PR. Also, I work on my hamstring flexibility a lot and this helped me immensely.

Tried the Adidas power lift trainers for squat and DL. Great stability. No PRs or anything but my feet do feel planted which is great.

I usually DL 135, 225, 275, 315, 2 reps each then working set. My max is only 365 though.
