You are right about the people there though. I was doing some dumbbell lateral raises and some guy goes right in front of me and starts doing bicep curls with heavier dumbbells.
I'm guessing this is an attempt to show me up? I hope he realizes were working on different muscles.

I'm guessing this is an attempt to show me up? I hope he realizes were working on different muscles. | Yeah. Not only that. Its just horrible watching some of the people there work out. They have the worst form or lift weights that they obviously cannot lift. Its funny cause they have a PE or HKIN teacher in there and he doesn't notice these things at all or try to help them better their workouts.
YMCA in downtown is just as bad as well.
The equipment is the Signiature Series of Life Fitness which I wasn't feeling either. They're barbells have bearings in them. So when you bench press for example, the weights on the side start to slowly turning in either direction. Its weird and it throws me off when I bench or do other exercises. Plus there are a lot of guys in there who think they're the strongest and like to show you up. Its quite sad.
I could go on all day about YMCA.
I'll stick with Golds. Good equipment with nice and helpful people (Random heat bags and/or Guidos walk in here in there, but still super nice).
Yeap.

First "real" workout was great! Did one "plate" and a bit for 25 reps on deadlifts. Of course, the "plates" are slightly different here, since they are in kg. So my "plate" here is 25 kg, or 55 lbs... so.... 90 my total, iincluding bar (are we supposed to include the bar?) Anyway, that's my bodyweight approximately, so I'm happy with that as my starting point for deads BRO~! Posted via RS Mobile |

Which muscle group(s) do you guys least like to work out? For me, it's the calves and abs. Still do them but I don't look forward to doing them like I do with the other muscle groups. Posted via RS Mobile |

Abs aren't even important to work out. 3-4 sets twice a week is good enough. Posted via RS Mobile |

I never do calf-specific workouts, and abs I usually just do a few dozen crunches at the end of a workout as an afterthought.

I used to hate doing arms too, but then I started doing Overhead Presses for shoulders, which is probably my favourite upper body lift, and weighted dips/JM press for triceps.
Still hate curls.

Still hate curls. | Yeah curls and just smaller muscle groups seem like such a waste of a workout day

I'd say my least favorite to work out is legs/biceps...you really have to push yourself, there's no fucking around on a leg day.Not to mention having to deal with 2 days of body pain. My protocol is to squat until i get really dizzy. Arnold says he would squat till he passed out, wake up 10 minutes later, then squat some more. But i'd rather put up with all that so im not another chicken legged gym idiot. I dont understand this obsession with bicep curls, the only workout they get is on back days. Giant facepalm to anybody here who has a "bicep day"
Now for the favorite excersises: Bench (barbell/dumbell), dumbell shoulder press, barbell back row, t-bar row, jm press
