Rogers LTE network.

No info here on this yet.
Rogers LTE

Now I have couple questions regarding this. I recently received the samsung galaxy s2 LTE, I understand that you need a new LTE sim card. Fair enough.

I have the 6gb data plan from rogers and was just informed by rogers that I can not connect to the LTE network unless I upgrade to a 60/month LTE data plan. Is this true?

Well, they show some options for LTE plans, but it seemingly isn't very flexible.

Unlimited evenings is now after 9pm.

I remember reading somewhere (mobilesyrup?) tha the 6gb plan will be hounored for LTE. It doesn't hurt to try unless it's imperative to have a some designated plan before they issue a LTE sim.

as long as you sign the new $30 6gb plan it will be lte ready. it can be 6gb bis data or normal smartphone data.

$60 my10 plan with 1gb of data and $70 my10 plan with 6gb data are all lte capable.

nokia-siemens has come up with a new more efficient LTE radio that would bring costs down and improve upon bandwidth/coverage etc

so hopefully our local telecoms will make use of it

Nope.

Nobody here uses their equipment. Only Shaw uses their core network for their VOIP service.

So I just spent an hour or so talking to rogers with 3 different reps in 3 different depts. No one has heard or knows anything about the 30/6gb plan. Can anyone shed some light on this? Better yet if anyone works for rogers and can help me out please msg me.

Woot after some hunting found this on howard forums:

SHSSRA016 : for data sharing

DSPSRA0JG : for smartphone

BBDSRA0EK : for blackberry

$30/6gb LTE ready data add on

Any rep should be able to add it to your account with those codes.

going to give it a try tomorrow after I get my LTE sim card.

Ericsson is the world's top telecommunications network equipment vendor.

Nokia-Siemens is slowly rolling out in North America with Huawei following along (but their products are absolute crap.) Cisco is simply a data network solutions vendor providing routing and switching products.

Do you just tell the rep to add that code to your account? (what if they asked how I got it)? Also, do you know if LTE data cancellation rules are the same as regular data? For example maximum cancellation fee is $100?

Had the data sharing code added to my account. I had to be transferred to retentions to get it done, once there though it was a 2 minute process. They just added the code no renewal needed. Switched my original data sharing plan to the LTE data sharing plan.

I'm unsure about the data plan cancellation rules. Sorry

First experiences on LTE. I very rarely connect when I am in indoors. Once outside though around almost all of the lower mainland I am getting download speeds of 40mbps average using the speedtest app.

Just to be clear, giving the corresponding code from above to Rogers would convert a 6 GB regular data plan, to an LTE, for free? Or is there a charge?

BTW, I have the SGS2 LTE as well with the new SIM card.

Code worked for me and the lady asked who gave me the number. I'm like a friend that works at Rogers.. She's like ok I'll do it but both you guys could get in trouble for this, your not suppose to be given these codes.. I'm thinkin, lady you would be the one in trouble for activating it lol

Ok, so I called in, gave the code DSPSRA0JG. She says it does NOT turn an existing 6 GB data plan into an LTE plan.

have them add it anyway. It doesn't say in their systems that its LTE ready but it will be.

After a few more follow ups and other experiences it seems that only the retentions dept can add these codes separately without any plan changes.
