i am curious to know how they get to your car...bus lol?
i didn't know about it until two weeks ago...and their website is extremely vague

SkinnyPupp 12-14-2011 12:53 AM

I'd go out drinking just so I could get a ride and hang out wit MG1 :fuckyea:

skyxx 12-14-2011 01:20 AM

What's better than spending a night during the holidays with Pervet MG1.... :lol

Benz_05TSX 12-14-2011 04:13 AM

Awesome idea!! I am surprised people nowadays are still this nice to offer free services for forum members who he have never met before!! It would be awesome if this actually gets set up!

MaGNuM16 12-14-2011 06:15 AM

just so you guys all know before you get screwed over like me... operation red nose does NOT cover burnaby, and safe ride is 40 bucks for the first 10 kms then 2.50 for every km after that. So it can get pricey depending how far you live. After reading the facebook page i probably wont be using them either...

MG1 12-14-2011 07:35 AM

It's not so much about being nice. I am doing this because I have three children who are old enough to drive. They wouldn't get behind the wheel after drinking and they know better than to get into a car driven by a person who has been drinking. I just don't want them to become a statistic - victims who were injured or killed by another vehicel driven by an intoxicated person. My wife becomes designated driver for our kids when they are in a bind. I will be designated driver for any RS members in need. Pretty simple. I already have another person, dr.funk helping me out in this. Never met the guy, but I believe it's gonna be fun, interesting, and enjoyable.

MG1 12-14-2011 08:00 AM

So here's how it works.

If person has car at house/bar/massage parlour, etc. and is totally wasted, they will somehow post request on RS (this thread). Hopefully the volunteers won't be too busy driving people who really don't need this service (hint, hint). Once we get the request, two people in a single car will show up. One guy will get into the individual's vehicle with the owner in it and drive it home. The other person follows and picks up the other partner and continue to help others.

If a person is at a location without a vehicle and it is waaay to late to take transit or Sky train home, one of the volunteers will show up to drive the person home.

Still some planning to do.

Hopefully, people are not going to abuse this system by purposely getting drunk to get a free ride in order to meet me or any other RS member for shits and giggles.

One question I have for you guys. Is getting a taxi to take you from DT Vancouver to Surrey late at night still a problem? If so, this service will indeed come in handy. If the distance is very far, I think driver should be compensated for fuel costs.......... or, depending on driver, making a donation to a worthwhile cause that RS supports would be wonderful.

MG1 12-14-2011 08:12 AM

Some rules to go over:

No smoking or drinking or blow while being driven. Sex? Only if I can take photos and post them on RS......... actually, that may not discourage some people on RS. LOLOLOL

If you become belligerant, I will kick your sorry ass out of the car without hesitation and call RS Beatdown Crew.

Santofu 12-14-2011 08:29 AM

Someone should buy MG1 a nice cup of Eggnog to enjoy while he is driving.

dr.funk 12-14-2011 09:20 AM

MG1 Got the right idea! the only reason why i am will to do this is because i had a friend get really messed up in a drunk driving accident and dont want to hear a fellow RS member get owned so i will be driving with MG1

JDął 12-14-2011 09:25 AM

You might get the call just for laughs, photos will be encouraged :lawl:

BaBiE_Bee 12-14-2011 09:32 AM

MG, sent you a PM!

Zyzz 12-14-2011 09:36 AM

So if I do this in Hong Kong.... does Hyde pick me up in a helicopter?

MG1 12-14-2011 09:57 AM

Awesome, we have another volunteer. Thanks, BaBIE_Bee.

And, of course, dr.funk.

Volunteers don't have to be available 24/7. Just indicate in a PM, possible dates and times. Will put up schedule when we get closer to New Year's.

Also, people who volunteer. Your Identities will be protected. No names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Nobody needs to know. Your user name is fine.

JD13, pics of volunteers/drivers only with their permission.

Gh0stRider 12-14-2011 10:04 AM

And officially, if any of you are caught drunk driving and post in the police forum bitching about having your license suspended after having this service available to you, I'll ban you.

I already envision xilley making a post. :lawl:
