probably a few of these but all i could find were ones 4 to 7 years old and i want a new opinion from Vancouver. I live in Coquitlam still going to high school and selling my 93 accord se and want a tuner. i got 6k max and i don't want to do an engine swap in the future. I will when the engine dies but till then no. i wanna put money into the car simple at the beginning more later on and every threads fighting over rwd or fwd personally i need a auto transmission and i wanna know which of those two would be the best choice. my main desicions based on fun to drive and will have some power behind the peddle. looking at 5th gen prelude or 240 sx.

If you are going to go automatic transmission, stay away from the H22a4 Honda Preludes. It is a known issue that the auto/SS tranny in that vehicle has proven to be unreliable and a ticking time bomb. Definitely a fun car to drive though if you go with the lude but it is a heavy car so acceleration won't be the greatest.
The Accord SE is a good loaded (leather, audio, all power options) car, if the body and engine is in fair condition. It's definitely no Prelude though. Have you considered a H22 swap, or a F20B? With 6K, you could build a nice CB7 Posted via RS Mobile

depends what you like imo. i love both ludes and 240's but for me the "look" of a 5th gen > 240. Now on the topic of a SH or base..it really depends what you plan to do to it. i owned an sh, but if i could re-do id go for a base just cus i heard its better to tune and what not because you dont have the ATTS unit in the way that the SH has. But you also have to remember SH has leather interior and base doesnt, so you gotta make your pick

the engine has nothing to do with the transmission.
5th gen honda preludes only came with the h22a4 engine. auto tranny was shit, but manual's arent easy to find either as those that decided to keep the car, did the manual swap.
old 240 ka24's werent exactly all that great either, hard to find one in good condition without any body rush.
both cars are under 3000lbs.

without the entry level tuners, there would have never been the big craze, and aftermarket industry we see now.
like it or not, there are 20 entry tuners for every supra. they drove the market to develop technology that fuels your supra's parts. mass production, demand, gave companies $$$ to invest in development

Don't bother with an S Chassis that's Auto, unless you plan to Manual swap later on.
KA Autos are shit, and they don't really make any power with bolt ons.
Yeah, there are options with the KADE, but it's not worth the work when you can just turbo charge it.
RSX's are cheap as fuck now.
K20, tons of aftermarket, realiable, and newer.
I've been through 3 S13's. All Manual. Fun car, pig on gas, rust bucket. It's hard as hell to find a half decent, clean one that hasn't been fucked with, or tweaked. Don't buy one unless you know what to look out for, and know what you're getting into.
I'd get another S13, but I wouldn't recommend it to a newbie.
Nothing wrong with S chassis, it's the easy out to start drifting. Like everyone else has said, both cars are hard to find not molested, and while the S13 is a pig on gas, the KA can be Soviet battle tank reliable if the engine wasn't abused in the first place.
Personally, I'd roll an S13...as a weekend drift car .

CB7 : 2728 lbs
Prelude: 3,042 lb
Just because it has 4 doors doesn't mean its heavy... and why is weight even a factor? you said Manuals are no way beneficial for you... you obviously aren't going to be doing any performance driving, so weight really shouldn't be an issue unless you are really anal about Fuel Economy.
But to answer your question, personally I would go with a Prelude, it'll be newer and I have seen a few clean automatics that pop up pretty often on Craigslist. Read up on that transmission problem, if its already been rebuilt then I guess it shouldn't be a problem. A 240sx would be pretty nice too, but as mentioned its hard to find one in good condition.
edit: wtf do you mean it doesn't respond to aftermarket parts? you are all assuming this without even touching your car... usually when you replace 20+ year old suspension with a Performance coilover or a custom Spring/Shock combo it responds nicely...
Read up on your currect car. CB7tuner.com can help you out with that, but they are down temporarily.
and +1 on a TL or E30 BMW.
