Can't disable Blackberry password

I have a curve 8900 on OS 5
I can't seem to disable the password. it is enabled and the button is grey, not letting me click it, and has a small lock beside it.
does anyone know how to remove this lock?

When you connect the phone through BlackBerry desktop manager, there should be an option to disable it from that program.

If you have nothing "important" on the phone, connect it to BBSAK, enter the phones password, wipe the phone through BBSAK and update your phone to OS 6.

If you're willing to take the 2nd option, I'll send you a step-by-step guide to do it + the OS 6 link for the curve

Just checked, it can't. But, here's the latest version of OS 5 for the 8900:

Official OS 5.0.0.1067 for the BlackBerry Bold 9000 Curve 8900 and Curve 8520 from AT&T | CrackBerry.com

I don't have desktop manager installed so try looking around for it. It SHOULD have it.

This usually happens if bb was connected to bes (enterprise) server, and have a IT policy loaded onto it(policy makes it manditory to have a pass). Google delete IT policy 8900. No matter u update new OS, policy would remain.
