car shake when braking.

Hey guys recently i notice that my car shake a lot when i brake and I'm not too familiar as in come to brake. So i'm looking for some good brake shop. I went to midas couple years ago to get my brake pad replace and i'm not quite happy with their service so i'm looking for an alternative shop. Any good recommendation?

Sounds very indicative of rotor warp. Call one of the sponsors up.

Depends if you wanna do all four or not. Prolly just need to do the fronts. I'm guessing around $400-$500 for a shop to do it.

If you do it yourself, couple hundie.

By vibration do you mean the whole car or do you mostly feel it in the brake pedal?

It could be warped rotors but could also mean worn ball joints.

I say the whole car is vibrating. Even the steering wheel. I think is most likely coming from the front brake since the steering wheel is vibrating. I checked some of the sponsors and the one i found that look good is speed syndicate. Anyone here got any experience with them before?

I noticed that my car started to have this vibrating as well. I only feel it when I'm going slowly into a stop. Is it a bad thing?

If your ever bored OP, you could read this whole thing :

http://www.powerbrake.co.za/download..._01_judder.pdf

It talks about the reason why your car is vibrating when you brake. Basically the thickness of your rotor is uneven causing vibrations, in which most people will refer to the condition as "Warped rotors", but "The overwhelming cause of brake judder is a condition called Disc Thickness Variation" quoted from the article.

Thanks guys for all your input. Much appreciated. I'll bring my car to speed syndicate to get it check out. Hopefully it does't cost me too much to get it fix. As i'm already broke from christmas.

At worst they'll probably call to replace your rotors, but I'm thinking it's possible to machine out the warpage if it's not excessive.

speaking from experience, front rotors warped will get steering wheel and pedal vibration.
rear rotors warped will get pedal and chasis vibration. Of course, it could be some other moving parts that cause the vibration, definitely get a mechanic to test drive it.

"Warped rotors"

Edit: Yes, I know it's simply easier to say one's rotors are warped rather than explaining about cementite inclusions. Just something that bothers me, is all. lol
