HID Cutoff question

I drive a 94 integra gsr, and I have been looking at installing HID's in my car. From what I understand from searching on the net is that if I want a proper cut off and not to blind other drivers, I will need to do a retrofit of a different projector lens. The GSR came with projectors but i'm not really sure if I will need to change the lens on it or will it be fine? If it will not work stock, anyone know how hard it would be to do the retrofit?

Teggy projectors aren't terrible but aren't perfect.., I have hids in mine and it's not that bad. I'll try and grab a pic of the cutoff.

Colour as in the colour of light output? I'm not that concerned about the colour as my main worry is about blinding others

Don't forget to set money aside for the "unauthorized lighting" tickets.

This is why I haven't done it yet, I may just forget about the whole thing and run regular halogens forever.

I find that the 6000K-up are more blinding that a 4300K even tho the higher color generate less visible light. Therefore you are less likely to have problems with the 4300K. Most people will just think it is stock other and you will be able to see more in front of you.

Yup 4300k are best IF you are going to do a conversion.

honestly I had 5000k hids in my stock dc2 headlights and they pretty decent for what they were (90s projector technology) cut off isn't great, they weren't too blinding to other drivers since the light output isn't that great, also im assuming your car is lowered and your headlights aren't aimed to the sky it really shouldn't be that big of a deal compared to cars with big non projector halogen housings.

and I looked into retrofitting too but since the stock lights are already projectors is a bitch to do since you have to take out the existing projectors and fab out pretty much everything while if they weren't projectors there are lots of plug and play retrofits kits you can do.

thanks for being considerate to other drivers.. nothing i hate more than people who put hids in halogen housings. aka ricer civics. for gods sake if you wanna look 'baller' at least spend some money on true projectors.

If you don't go the HID route, another option is the 9011 HIR bulbs if you can still find them. The tab needs to be slightly modded to match the 9006 but they put out about 2300 lumens. A standard 9006 is about 1100 and a D2S is about 3200.

There is also a 9012 but the 11 is brighter and it is the same work to mod either.

I figured if I am going to do this, I should do it right or not do it at all. It bothers me when I see it done on a car that has regular reflectors.

So modding any old car is " wanna be baller" on this site??

That the difference with ppl here and in the States...In Cali I noticed a lot of old school imports modded and they look sweeter than most newer "so called modded" here in Van.

Some people just want better lighting... I did a retro in my integra just for the lighting increase not to make it look like something it wasn't . Oddly enough the lights on my tl were a small part of why I bought it

Wrong, HID without the housing designed for HID can be a problem to other drivers. My M45 does not have projectors for the factory HID setup. Improperly aimed headlights can be blinding to the opposite traffic regardless of the type of bulb that is in it, HID will amplify that issue. Like I said in my previous post, I have HID's in my truck's factory headlights and properly aimed. Everyone that has seen it didn't know it was and HID until I told them. They noticed that more of the ground in front of the truck was visible and that it wasn't ant more glare from stock, and especially compared to those 7000K+ kits. I have the 4300K which is about the same color as a normal halogen bulb.

I can have HID's in my car I just have to angle the housing downwards.

You have to aim them properly such as this diagram for the G35, your car will have a similar specifications.
