Purchasing E tickets for Concert

Looking for some inputs on buying electronic copy ticket for an upcoming concerts.

I found a good deal on from a private seller on CL, but he mentioned that they were electronic copies. He offered to give me a copy of his driver license and IDs for my peace of mind.

I know people could be selling duplicate e tickets, and if you get stuck with one, your doomed.

Anyone with any inputs? Thanks in advance

See if he can sell you it through eBay, or you can meet him and make your own judgement.

I've purchased and sold many e-tickets/hard copy tickets before, and I have never had a problem. But that doesn't mean it can't happen. Ticket sales are reeeeally shady. Anyone can sell duplicate tickets and there's really no way of finding out until the concert.

only way to guarantee its legit is to meet the day of the event and scan the tickets at the door. if its good, then give him the $$$

see if he is up for that.

some scalpers do that.

If the seller agreed to sign the following paper, will it work on a legal perspective?

Purchase Receipt

I certify and confirm that the concert tickets are originals and valid for the XXXX concert to be held at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. If, in any case, the tickets are found to be invalid for entry to the concert either due to duplication or fraud, I agree to refund the full amount of the payment to the purchaser.

Spoiler!

IMO, no seller will be willing to sign this type of agreement, when the seller can always find another buyer who is willing to purchase without any strings attached.

Tickets are cheaper on CL for a reason, and that is you cannot verify whether the ticket is real/fake.

If you are afraid of being scammed, just buy from third party sites like stubhub.
