How to save time and money:

Step 1: Buy cheap meats in large quantities. Those pork loins cost $1.88/lb at no-frills. The chicken was the same price. That's 30 lbs of meat sitting there. Beside the meat are two 5 lb boxes of blueberries ($10 each at nesters)

Step 2: Package up with tasty shit (in this case, rosemary, garlic, salt, olive oil). Each pack is good for about 2 days worth of meat. Toss in freezer and defrost as needed.

Step 3: Eat.

This thread has seriously been lacking. Been eating like shit, so decided to have a nice salad for dinner. I love Costco. Montreal smoked meat, roasted red peppers, blackberries, feta, cherry tomato's, and spinach. Fucking delish.

At what temperature and how long do you cook the steaks for? Is that broiled?

i actually bbq the steak first. about 4 mins short of normal. so like 12 mins or so.
let steaks cool then slice them.

combine everything then into the oven at about 300f for maybe 10 mins, then add cheese, then let it cook until cheese melts.

i usually bbq 5 servings of steak at a time so ive always got the sliced steak handy

made quiche tonight
cant go wrong with bacon, eggs and pastry that you can eat cold on the run

picked up some deep dish tenderflake crusts, pre-baked them at 350 for 20 minutes with a weight to stop the crusts from rising, then another 10 minutes to brown

baked 500g of bacon in the oven also at 350 till it was cooked crispy, chopped it up
1 cup of diced red onion, sauted in butter

set all this stuff aside

combine
3 eggs,
1 cup milk
1/2 cup whipping cream
1/8 tsp nutmeg
tsp salt and pepper
1 cup grated cheese

arrange the bacon in the crusts,

add eggs/cheese/spices
add onion

bake in 350 oven for 1/2 hour

allow to cool before you cut into portions

3.5 lbs extra lean ground beef
1-1.5 large chopped onion
2 large chopped green bell pepper (make bigger chunks)
2 large chopped red bell pepper (make bigger chunks)
1/3 cup chili powder
little less than 1/4 cup crushed chilis
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 rounded tablespoon ground cumin
1 chopped jalapeno pepper (partially de-seeded as i dont like super hot)
2 (28 ounce size) cans diced tomatoes
1 (23 ounce size) can Hunts thick and rich pasta sauce
2 (16 ounce size) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
salt and pepper to taste (my last batch i used no salt at all)

1-Fry up ground beef and onion (will take 2 pans)
2-Combine everything into extra large pot and stir well and bring to boil
3-Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 1.5 hours. stirring occasionally.

just popping in to remind everyone, its fucking chilli season again

got a batch on the go right meow

protip on the chilli

in the last 25 minutes of cooking, toss 4 or 5 Pillsbury biscuits on top uncooked and put the lid back on, they turn into dumplings instead of biscuits magically
