steve nash sports club downtown (have access to all other locations too)
paid $950/year but got a bonus 8(?) months so it worked out to be about $40ish a month.

heero78 08-27-2012 02:15 AM

any body knows how much do you have to pay per month for Good Lift Fitness 24 hrs at Coquitlam? The one on North road. thanks!

Supafly 08-27-2012 06:55 AM

its rediculously expensive....and the equipment is meh....you can find a better gym for the same price.

Are they still missing a decline bench?

i worked out there for years just cause its close. Y is always jam packed in the evenings like from 5 all the way till 9. no decline bench and a while back they were missing one of the OLY bars (1 of 5 total) for like 6 weeks.

finally bit the bullet and joined platinum, way less busy, way more equipment way more room, sauna is included. Competitively priced supps in their store. its 19+ so no high school kids. open till midnight weekdays and fairly late weekends too. $35/motnh no contract and $5 off for anybody you refer (so if you do join and dont konw anybody PM me!).

also i checked out elevation too, but theyre pretty expensive, like ~$50+ i think and blelieve theyre contract, pricey for no pool or sauna. Pro is that hardly anyone goes there. its just south of hwy 10 off 152, where the fedex building is. if you go south on 152 its your first right after hwy 10

^^ i go to Good Life Fitness..its a great gym tbh, love the environment there, most ppl who are tehre dont fuck around cept your usual here n there, friendly as hell (even the guy who looks liek he's on roids)

pros (for me)

close to home
easy to find parking underground,
24hrs
AC
not TOO busy

cons

fucking expensive
international chest monday , its packed LOL
DB's only up to 100 (i aint close to it so i shudnt complain)

im paying bout 65$ per month right now and that was on a 2yr plan..pretty much done there though, moving to a diff gym dont know where too yet...prob steve nash ( but so much further to drive, cus i dont wanna go to the lougheed one )

Steve Nash in Coquitlam

instantneedles 08-30-2012 11:34 PM

^pros and cons pl0x.. Im curious as to how it compares to the brentwood one

trix4kids 08-31-2012 01:13 AM

Tried out the Brentwood Steve Nash, sales was a short Asian dude pushy as fuck, basically wanted to know how much money I had to my name and had the type of look that you just wanna punch off his face. Im in sales myself and he does not know how to sell a customer. Very unhappy with the customer service, prolly will stick to ghetto revs.

instantneedles 08-31-2012 08:10 AM

^i know exactly who u are talking about.. That kid doesnt know how to sell for shit... He has this snobby attitude that just turns away potential members.. The manager there isnt very great eithr, he gives half assed explanations to the gym policies and talking in general, he always seems dazed and not give a fuck
Im so glad i ended up declining my job offer with steve nash at the kingsway location. Their company just carries such a bad name for their horrible staff....

hotong 08-31-2012 08:30 AM

gonna get a trial pass at max core studio

instantneedles 09-01-2012 11:35 AM

how is it there? i've wanted to stop by and use it sometimes because of the pool :p but i haven't done that yet

d1 09-01-2012 03:21 PM

How much is it at Steve Nash Richmond? The oval would be around $42/month so if they're similarly priced I'd prefer the oval.

+1 I am usually there 640-745 am weekdays. It is nice and quiet then.

neggo 09-01-2012 05:35 PM

Steve Nash Richmond is a good gym that is kept clean all the time. You will never really have any trouble finding weights but, as with any other gym, has its fair share of douche bags.

It also gets really busy around 5pm up until 730.

I paid upfront and got a pretty awesome deal which averaged out to about $30 a month.

Other than that it's a pretty decent gym.

I went to steve nash SC in downtown because I got a groupon pass before I knew I could extend my sport central pass.
They tried to get me to sign up there, but when the 2nd sales rep started talking to me and knew I went to SC, they basically gave up. $15/month vs $50/month.
I like SC more too, I dont know why. It has more of a "rocky" feel to it.
That, and nash only has one full rack. I cant do my squats low enough on the half rack.

Anyone go to BCIT gym in the morning?

i go to this gym its really good if u can hit it up early in the morning because it's basically dead... evenings are opposite. i get there around 6 - 6:30pm and it gets really packed sometimes so any kind of circuit training becomes almost impossible to do. been there for almost a year and plan on extending my membership for another

subordinate 09-10-2012 05:47 PM

Anyone working out at Anytime Fitness?

Input on how busy it is and how's the equipment overall. It looks like they have the basic setup.
