Steve Nash on North Road. Might not have the best equipment, but there's plenty of equipment.

How busy does it get during prime time (ie 7-9PM)? Looking for a new gym soon in Burquitlam area. Was gonna check out goodlife but its probably packed and $$$.

The rates I were given were a little over $40 for 1yr commitment, $37 for 2yr; plus a $15 yearly equipment fee and one time $50 signup/registration fee. This was a pre-registration at the location that just opened up across from Crystal Mall. At this location it isn't too busy on weeknights after 9, but ymmv.

Also your membership at Anytime Fitness extends to all locations after 1 month (not really sure why the 1 month wait).

Sportcentral!! the best gym ever  but really cant complain because of price and 24/7 running

Purely 09-18-2013 04:33 PM

Sports Central $15/month 24/7

I left SC end of July.
Have the treadmills and ellipticals been fixed yet? Or is it as greasy and broken as always?
For the price, I may rejoin next year.

320icar 09-24-2013 12:47 AM

The ellipticals all work. The treadmills DO work, but apparently I just have no idea how to turn them on :p not just quick start but some other option.

Yeah it's still greasy and dirty and smells like a scrotum. But price is right, and everyone is super friendly. Especially the daily midnight guys.

In the summer I went at 2/3pm~. Now I go at 7/8pm or night time at 10pm~.

Got a free trial pass at Steve Nash.. and even though all of the equipment is new, etc, the feeling is just isn't right. I'm used to the space and ghetto feeling at Sports Central now lol.

I'm still chapped that Sports Central tore down the basketball court.. :okay:

What's the best gym around the Point Grey or Kits area? Recently moved and I totalled my car, so travelling far is really out of the equation. Looking for a 30 minute max bus ride/skytrain. I was looking at Steven Nash @ Cambie and Langara YMCA, but both seem to have bad reviews.

I'm a simple guy, so I really only need free weights, a bar and a squat rack.

The downtown fitness centers are relatively close to me too. Downtown Club 16 a good gym?
