^ how many squat racks and benches do they have?

Fafine 01-07-2016 10:53 AM

also considering on signing up at goodlife cause cheap 24 and close to home, but how many racks they have?

see.lai 01-07-2016 11:17 AM

$20/month is tempting; only paying $24/month at sn brentwood doe..

didn't know this was a 24 hour gym as well. I guess Anytime fitness is gonna take a hit since they're literally 1 block away from each other lol

jjson 01-07-2016 11:31 AM

^SN @ brentwood is always full. I see cars waiting to park lining up all the way out to lougheed

Jan 12th is the Grand Opening party and only the group fitness classes will be happening. The actual gym won't be open until 5am on the 13th.

The club has 3 squat racks in the Free Weight area plus 2 others in the Personal Training area. There are 3 flat bench, 1 decline and 1 incline.

anyone have gone to the marine gateway's Steve Nash?

Jonydakiller 01-15-2016 07:04 AM

Anybody go to Steve Nash? They offered me $799 for 12month plus 6mth free which works out to be $45 a month. They also told me after the contract it will be only $16/mth. Want some input here, im not sure if i want to lock myself up for 1.5 years, i know they have quite a bit of locations in lower mainland.

ziggyx 01-15-2016 09:58 AM

^ That's interesting. I used to be with Steve Nash (just under $600 for 12 +7 months free. I got a corporate discount through work), but they never offered me the $16/month deal afterwards. They wanted to keep me at around $30/month so I quit and decided to look at other gyms for now.

Also the 7 months free that they offered me was kind of weird but I'm assuming it was to keep me until the end of the year and force me to pay the maintenance fee.... something to keep in mind.

One more note is if you're planning to go to the kingsway location (near metrotown) I would advise against it. I live near that one and always went to the lougheed steve nash location. The one by metrotown is a gong show for parking.

Was tempted at sports central again but man that place is nasty. Just when I thought that place couldn't get any worse.

Go to RSF then.

AXKA. 01-15-2016 11:42 AM

Second RSF, they have a lot of new equipment and repainted a lot of the gym. They have three olympic platforms and bumper plates now!

I go to their sports club in richmond. I currently pay 570 for 24 months plus their 50 per year annual maintenance fee

JSALES 01-15-2016 12:40 PM

I'm currently at Steve Nash and my contract is already over, paying roughly $35 monthly now. Thinking about cancelling my membership since my school has a $5 a month plan at the regular Steve Nash locations lol

I'm still at sport central but a lot of my friends go to RSF.
They keep telling me how much better it is there.

Okay i'll lol at you next time. I was just there for a week until goodlife opened up. RSF is way better than shitcentral. I was actually starting to like RSF a lot. After going to at least 6 different gyms in the GVA, I'd say shitcentral is probably the worst

really? I find that people that are involved with MMA and such like it better there. But for weights and such, SC is better. RSF is straight grimey.

How are you guys liking the new GoodLife so far. It's been awhile since I've been to a commercial gym so I'm still getting used to it.
Wished the lighting by squat racks were better.

Nlkko 01-15-2016 10:00 PM

Anytime Fitness on False Creek. Squeaky clean. They have 3 racks. No good for oly no platform.

Also a regular member at this location. Love it.

5 private washrooms w/ 4 of them having showers, full towel service, everything's immaculate and they're always cleaning the place, and they've been working on an expansion for the past several months so it's twice as big now.

On the pricier side; but if you can afford it, you wouldn't want to go to any other gym

I think you mixed up SC and RSF lol

LC21 01-16-2016 07:51 AM

New goodlife, no chalk, no 'dropping the weight' while deadlifting.

Dealbreaker.
