Anyone go to the gym at New West station? How is it? |
|
Anyone go to YMCA in downtown? What are some good gym in the downtown area? |
Anyone swim? What are the pools you go to for lane swimming? I used to go to YMCA downtown but parking is a bitch and only 2-3 lane swim the rest is old people and kids walking around. Doesn't have to have a gym as I would like to keep my Anytime membership anyways. |

Anyone have experience cancelling with Gold's Gym? |
There's a new fitness gym/club opening up on West Georgia https://www.equinox.com/clubs/canada.../westgeorgiast They're suppose to be pretty big in the US. |
I imagine this is where old rich people workout. |
i'd imagine you don't actually go there to workout, but to be seen going to workout. |
Any recommendations for east Van/Hastings sunrise? A pool would be awesome but I won't get my hopes up :( |

- Steve Nash Lougheed Highway - GoodLife Fitness Kingsway - Anytime Fitness Kingsway Avoid Anytime Fitness North Burnaby. Shittiest gym I've ever been to. |
Anytime Fitness False Creek is where I go. So clean. |
i just destroy my gf for a work out 0$/month |
If we talking strictly gym I tried Nash on Lougheed recently for a couple weeks and also used to go to Fitness world back in the day and there's no argument the size and equipment blow any CC away, not even close. What I couldn't get past was the vibe. Maybe bc I grew up on CC fitness centres and love the more close nit vibe and also you get people from all walks of life. Old Asian grandmas and grandpas, serious gym fanatics, some youngins, everything. Nash on Lougheed anyways (can't comment on other places) in my 2 weeks there were mostly 20 and 30 year old Asians and while that's my demographic and the same type of people I hang around I just didn't enjoy it. They aren't bad people, nobody tried to stare me down or anything but if you've done the big vs small gyms you know what I'm talking about. Ultimately, it's preference and while CCs are not cheap at around $50/m you get access to swimming and skating too. Racer let me know if you want to come check out Brit we'll go bang some weights. |
Anytime fitness at Vancouver is perfectly acceptable gym. The management is active and involved. The equipment is cared for. There is enough equipment for what I need to do. And it is 24 hours, which is a must for me. The price is reasonable and I feel that I have gotten good value from the gym. |

already posted this in the workout thread but anyone interested in a serious powerlifting/oly lifting/crossfit etc gym in richmond https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0...a3&oe=58856826 |
I go to golds gym, but im not in the lower mainland :joy: |
Might try Sport Central. I need a 24 hour gym and it seems to be this and Anytime but Sport Central is less than half the price. Looks pretty big from pics too so I'll probably never have to worry about lack of equipment. Bonus points for the basketball court, I've been dying to just mess around and shoot all winter. It has pretty bad reviews but they seem to be about payment and charging canceled memberships. I'll just pay in cash. |

Sport Central doesn't have a basketball court. RSF (Richmond Sports & Fitness) has one if you're talking about that instead. It's literally up the street from Sport Central and 24/7 as well. |
